HENSALL — Iceculture, Inc.
of Hensall has been recognized
as one of the most innovative
manufacturers in Canada, after
being named as runner-up in
the Canadian Manufacturer of
the Year category Oct. 16 in
Mississauga at the Canadian
Innovation Awards.
Iceculture president Ann
Bayley said, "It is always very
exciting to be recognized by
your peers...but this year, with
so much negativity surround-
ing the manufacturing sector, I
felt being nominated in the
Manufacturer of the Year cate-
gory was even more meaning-
ful and significant."
Host for the ceremonies was
former Ministry of Industry,
Finance, Foreign Affairs and
Deputy Prime Minister, John
Manley. The awards program,
which attracts companies from
all across the country, was
organized by the Canadian
Manufacturers and Exporters
(CME).
It is the eighth year for the
awards which honour excel-
lence of top Canadian compa-
nies who are leading the inno-
vation charge in their field.
A spokesperson for CME says
that with Canada's lackluster
performance on the global
stage in terms of recognition,
more must be done to foster a
culture of innovation in
Canada.
