Register your floats early for the Christmas Parade

The Kingsfield-Zurich Menno-
nite Church will be having a fam-
ily skating party at the Bluewater
Complex on Sun., Nov 16 at 6
p.m. Bring a canned good item for
Blessings food bank.
A good time was had by eight
ladies (mostly Smith relatives and
a few friends) on a weekend away
in Port Huron.
Leaves are still being picked up
in Zurich, Hensall and Bayfield
during the month of November.
Just put them in large clear bags
and leave ready near the road.
Welcome to town Ron and The-
resa MacEachern who moved to
Zurich recently from Bayfield.
The couple live on Main St. East.
Larry and Ann McBride, RR 1
Zurich recently spent nine days
visiting with his brother Terry and
Gail McBride in Black Diamond,
Alberta.
Lylyan Beer (Hensall) was
moved from her home into the
North Crest Senior Apartments in
Hensall.
Flu Shot Clinic
The next Flu Shot Clinic is on
Sat., Nov. 22 at the complex in Zu-
rich from 9 a.m. to noon. Remem-
ber to bring your Health Card.
Agricultural Society
The Zurich Agricultural Society
will be holding their annual meet-
ing at the Hay Township Hall on
Thurs., Nov 27 beginning with a
pizza supper at 7 p.m.
All members are invited to at-
tend, be sure to call president Hil-
da Lansbergen at 236-4149 a few
days before if you are going so she
can order enough pizza.
Four dollar dues for 2009 will
also be collected and committee
reports are to be given to Mar-
garet. Dessert is potluck and the
meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.
The family of Stewart Thiel held
a birthday party in his honour at
the rest home Sunday afternoon.
Upcoming at Blue
Water Rest Home
On Thurs., Nov. 13 the Menno-
nite Church ladies will hold the
monthly birthday party for resi-
dents at Blue Water at 6:30 p.m.
The Grand Bend Senior s Band
will entertain on Nov 14 at 2:30
p.m.
The residents family Christmas
dinner will be held at the Blue
Water Rest Home on Sun., Nov. 16
with two sittings scheduled for 4
p.m. and 5:45 p.m. Musical enter-
tainment in the lobby will be from
3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for the visitors to
enjoy.
After dinner the Angel Tree cer-
emony will be held out front at
7 p.m. so dress warm. Anyone
wanting to honour a loved one
can purchase a light for $25 in
their memory.
Angel Tree pamphlets are avail-
able around town or call Agnes at
the Rest Home at 236-4373 as soon
as possible.
There will be a Stampin Up par-
ty (to make Christmas cards etc.)
at the rest home on Mon., Nov
17 with Linda Steckle. This event
will be set up as an open house in
the auditorium and everyone is
invited to attend.
Lions Club
The Zurich Lions Club are plan-
ning to have their annual Old
Fashion Turkey Bingo at the
complex on Wed., Dec. 3 (mark it
down on your calendar and plan
to attend).
Their next meeting will be held
on Nov 26.
Christmas Parade
The lighted Christmas parade in
Zurich is scheduled for Sun., Dec.
7 starting at 5:30 p.m. sponsored
by the Lions Club.
Following the parade Santa will
be at the Zurich Complex to hand
out candy to the children.

ister a float in the parade please
call Vicki Wilder at 263-5343. The
Scouts will be walking the route to
collect canned good items for our
Blessings food bank.
The youth group at St. Peter s
Lutheran Church are asking peo-
ple from the community to loan
their Nativity display items, so
they can create a Creche Festival
in their fellowship hall (if there
is enough interest) on Sat., Nov
29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please
call Sharia Ciupak at 236-7004 for
more information as soon as pos-
sible.
Ladies Auxiliary
The Ladies Auxiliary meeting
was a great get together on Nov
4 with the auditorium filled with
residents to hear
piano music
by two sisters
Grace and Pearl
Ann Martin.
Hilda gave
a reading for
Remembrance
Day and Car-
mel gave one
for seniors.
Eleven mem-
bers and three
visitors an-
swered the roll
call. Five dollar
dues were col-
lected for 2009
and canned
good items
were collected
for our draws at
Hensall Indoor

Manufacturers' Association for their recognition at the HMA Awards Nov. .5,
2008. HMA presented Andex with awards for Youth Integration, Corporate

memory of our deceased member
Anne Flaxbard.
Stacey handed out the newslet-
ters for the month and went over
the various activities coming up.
A report was given on the beau-
ty shop equipment the auxiliary
are purchasing for the rest home.
Mary Ducharme sent out four
sympathy and 11 birthday cards
to the residents within the past
three months.
Della Gascho is in charge of help-
ers for the tuck shop cart twice a
month and she could use some
volunteers on the 2nd last Tues-
day from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Call
her at 236-4173 if you can help.
Hilda gave a treasurer s report
on the Bean Festival Quilt profit.
