Mark Graves to the pulpit and announced the first hymn God, Make Us Servants of Your Peace, which everyone sang. Mark gave words of welcome and everyone passed the Peace. Mark led in the call to worship respon- sively (based on Psalm 78:1-7) and also said the opening prayer. Don Bray lit the red candle for Peace. Mark read the honour rolls. Mark told the children about Golf Balls, Building Alters and Remembrance Day. Everyone sang the Lord s Prayer. Psalm 27 was read responsively. The choir sang Peace Like a River, accompanied by the pia- nist Marilyn Vandenbussche. Don Bray read the Gospel Lesson Mat- thew 25:1-13. The title of Mark s message was Parent- ing the Children of God. The hymn When Quiet Peace is Shattered was sung. The af- firmation of our faith A New Creed was read. Larry and Sharon Lynn received the offer- ing. The Doxology was sung and the offer- tory prayer was read in unison. Mark gave prayers of the people. The hymn Fight the Good Fight was sung. Mark gave the com- missioning and the benediction. Everyone sang the choral benediction. Announcements Welcome to Mark Graves who led the worship service. Mark started out in min- istry 25 years ago at a two point charge for the Presbyterian Church in Canada. He has been ministering interim and inten- tional pulpit supply for the last 13 years for the United Church and is officially a member at Zion in Rostock. His full-time occupation outside of ministry is a regional IT Manager for a major corporation for a region from St. John s NL to Windsor, ON and he is in the midst of transitionning to a Canada wide Project Manager position. He has been ministering as interim at Zion UC in Crediton since June of 2007. Thank you Mark for leading us in worship. Rev. Judith presided at Crediton for a baptism and communion service.
