The restaurant has been named one of the 10 best new restaurants in Canada by renowned restaurant reviewer Chris Johns from enRoute magazine. They were featured on the front page of the London Free Press on Fri., Oct. 1 and on A Channel news at 6 p.m. Several from Granton enjoyed the luncheon spon- sored by the Hillcrest Rebekah Lodge at the St. Marys Presbyterian Church on Mon., Oct. 27. Avonton Presbyterian Church sponsored their annual turkey supper at the church on Wed., Oct. 29, which was well - attended. The Granton -Wesley United Church beef supper was held on Sun., Nov. 2 at the Kirkton- Woodham Community Centre, and was very popular. At Granton -Wesley United Church on Sun., Nov. 2, Verna Mills lit the Christ Candle and Mary Waters gave the Minute for Mission. Pastor Paul Vollick led the service and the message was entitled Masks. The Scripture readings were from Matthew 23 and 1 Thessalonians 2. UCW Granton -Wesley UCW Unit 3 met on Friday morning, Oct. 24 when April Bryans and Cheryl Wright arranged an outing to the African quilt display at the Ailsa Craig Community Centre. It was a great display of culture, creativity and art- work. The group of 12 then had lunch at a restaurant in Ailsa Craig, where they had their business meeting. At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on All Saints' Sun., Nov. 2. Rev. Dalice Sim cele- brated the Holy Eucharist. The message was about remember- ing people who showed con- cern for each other. Hensall Drop-in hosts lunch By Liz Sangster HENSALL CORRESPONDENT HENSALL - At Hensall United Church Ian O'Neill was the min- ister, his sermon was "Love Conquers All". Eric Den Hollander was the organist. The ushers were Larry and Evelyn Elder. Kathy Mann was the reader and can- dle -lighter. Jan Collings looked after the nursery. Service closed with commissioning, benediction, and choral amen. Come out and enjoy our November meal at the Hensall Drop -In on Nov. 20 at the Hensall United Church. Lunch will be served at 12 noon. Following lunch we will be hearing music from Marlene Mathers. We welcome all local individuals to this luncheon held on the third Thursday of each month. The cost is $6 per per- son.
