With many shots on Lambeth s net the boys held on until the last few seconds of the third period when Lam- beth tied the game. The coaches were proud of the way the boys played. Thamesford 6 versus South Hu- ron 3 Goals: Kyle Jones (2), Bradley Regier Assists: Drew Horner, Evan Hayter, Ray Delbridge Comments: Thamesford came out strong scoring three goals in the first period. The Sabres re- grouped and held their own in the second period with Drew Horner s pass to Kyle Jones who popped the puck into the top left hand corner. Teamwork for the Sabres began in the third period with an increase in passing result- ing in two goals - one by Bradley Regier. The next goal resulted from a solid pass from Ray Del - bridge to Evan Hayter s wind-up shot and off of Jones stick to the top of net. Coach Lord said the boys did have a slow start and will continue to work on passing and positional play. The team is preparing for the next game Oct. 30 in Strathroy. SH 2 versus Petrolia 1 The long road trip to Petrolia had a positive outcome as well, but it was the result of another fine goaltending performance by Owen Kuranyi that brought the two points home. Owen allowed only one goal to eek by him while all the other rubber he faced was turned aside. A wee bit helter-skelter compared to Saturday s play, but Brett Reid was able to finish a nice passing play from McEwan and Mitchell out of the corner to tie the score at one mid way through the game. Shortly after that, Drew Horner had a nice goal set up on Noah Mitchell s second assist of the game, to put the Sabres in the lead and come out 2-1 victors.
