Carmel Church on Sat., Oct. 25 with dinner and reception held at the Bluewa- ter Complex. Brad is the son of Rick and Karen Masse of RR#3 Zurich. The couple will be living near Dashwood. Happy 50th wedding anniversary wish- es go out to Jim and Veronica Bedard on Oct. 25. The Zurich couple ejoyed a lovely weekend with their children and spouses, Rick and Patti Bedard, Debbie and Steven Overholt and Jackie and Craig Clausius. They spent Saturday and Sunday at the Forest Golf and Country Club and were took part in a murder mystery dinner the- atre. May we offer our sincere sympathy to the family and relatives of the late Edgar Steinbach who died last week, especially to his wife Anne in Zurich. A group of men from the area went moose hunting at Kirkland Lake last week. Included in the trip were Phil Erb, Jack Riddle and Paul, Shawn, Kam and Brian Steckle. The annual residents family Christmas dinner at the Blue Water Rest Home will be held on Sun., Nov. 16 with two sittings at 4 p.m. and 5:45 p.m. followed by the Angel Tree Ceremony outside at 7 p.m. On Sat., Nov. 8 there will be a Centen- nial Crokinole Tournament at the Zur- ich Mennonite Church Hall beginning at noon open to all ages and skills levels. To register contact Jim Ramer at 236-7332 as soon as possible. Hey kids and parents! When you're trick or treating on Friday, don't forget to go to the rest home in Zurich as the residents will be out front ready to hand out candy. Also, follow the pumpkin faces on the lamp post at the "Stone Meadow" condos subdivision to the club house for some goodies. The last free flu shot clinics are in Zur- ich on Tues., Nov. 4 at the complex from 5-7 p.m. and again on Sat., Nov 22 from 9 a.m. - noon. Be sure to bring your health card. CWL The St. Boniface CWL Parish Bazaar held last Saturday was very successful with lots of winners on the penny sale table and from draws. A few of the main items were: 1st prize Child's bicycle won by Toni Brand; 2nd prize - $50 and Penguin won by Maria Ma- thonia; 3rd prize - Grocery hampers won by Adam Murphy and Angela Clark. The Zurich Diners will have a Remembrance Day program following their noon meal on Wed., Nov. 5. On the 12th will be Progressive Euchre. Plans are being made for their annual old fashioned Turkey Bingo at the Bluewater Complex on Wed., Dec. 3. Gerry and Debbie Pennings of RR 1 Zur- ich enjoyed a bus trip to Longcastle, Penn- sylvania for four days recently. Best wishes for a speedy recovery go out to Sadi Klopp. Mark and Annette Stephan and family have moved back to Ontario after spending more than ten years in To- kyo, Japan and are now living near Strat- ford. St. Boniface School is having a'IOne Stop Shopping Event" in the gym on Sat., Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with several local merchants taking part. Everyone is wel- come! The ELW London Fall Conference will be held this Sat., Nov. 1 at the Zion Lu- theran Church in Stratford. Guest speaker is Pastor Patricia Jackson sharing about her mission trip. This Halloween there will be a group of high school students coming around trick or treating for non-perishable food items. All the items donated will be given to lo- cal food banks through the Social Justice Club at SHDHS. They ask that you have your food items ready at the door so they can cover the whole town in one night. Thank you for your support.
