The Times Advocate, 2008-10-22, Page 27Wednesday, October 22, 2008 TIMES—ADVOCATE 27 5 Break- ins reakins GRAND BEND — Lambton OPP are disturbed that there has been a rash of break-ins at seasonal cot- tages, especially in the Grand Bend area. In some cases, neighbours in the area have seen suspicious persons lurking around vacant cottages and police were never called. One was a sit- uation where a break-in occurred, acti- vating an audi- ble alarm as the culprit was entering the home. The alarm sent the culprit running but police were not called. Given the series of break- ins, OPP have committed addi- tional officers, including a K-9 unit to work in the affected area. If a suspicious person is seen and police are called, the likeli- hood of catching the culprits is greater.
