Queensway residents' artwork on display
HENSALL — Tuesday morning
the eight residents who attended
breakfast group in the cafe
enjoyed their eggs made to order
along with bacon, toast, fruit,
coffee and tea with volunteer
Mariette Bilcke assisting.
Queensway residents were
eager to cast their votes
Tuesday ensuring a very busy
morning for those operating the
mobile poll.
Later in the morning Rev.
Trembulak of Zion Lutheran
Church led worship with Belva
Fuss as volunteer pianist and
Kay Mock assisting residents.
Wednesday was an eventful
day for the retirement living res-
idents when several attended
the Octoberfest community

were tapping in the retirement
lounge when the Rambling
Rowes entertained.
Queensway residents were
proud and pleased recently to
have several pieces of their art-
work on display at the
Gerontological Nurses
Association Convention in
London. Val Bradley an artist
from London visits monthly to
lead our art group, working
mostly in watercolours.
Coffee and news started the
day Thursday with the Election
results being the main topic of
conversation. Following Coffee
and news, Father Keller was in
for the Roman Catholic residents
assisted by Betty Grenier and
Mariette Bilcke.
In the afternoon baking group
met and stirred up a batch of
tasty peanut butter cookies
which were sampled warm from
the oven. An extra treat was the
family member who joined us
for a visit and taste.
Community Living's drumming
group under the direction of
Katie Fox had quite a beat
going on when they visited
Friday afternoon for the benefit
of the Community Living clients
and anyone else onsite that
wished to attend. Volunteer
Millie Hoggarth traveled the
hallways with the tuck and
library cart Friday afternoon
and assisted residents with their
purchases and book borrowing.

Queensway Nursing Home resi-
dents hosted their family mem-
bers and friends for a delicious
Thanksgiving Dinner. Thank you
to volunteers Edna Deitz,
Mariette Bilcke and Millie
Hoggarth for their able assis-
tance.
Marty Bond won the beautiful
fresh fall flower arrangement
door prize created by Ben
Hoogenboom of Exeter Flowers.
Retirement living residents host-
ed their family members and
friends for a Thanksgiving meal
in the evening on Saturday with
help from volunteers Lillian Beer
and Betty Simmons.
Throughout the week residents
also benefited from Lori Burt's
massage therapy, music with
Lisa Stewart and exercises with
Mandi.
