Bethlehem Walk looking for
volunteers for another year
By Rhoda Rhode
THAMES ROAD CORRESPONDENT
THAMES ROAD - Rev. Judith
Ritchie was in charge of the
Thanksgiving church service on
Sunday morning.
The opening hymn Come Ye
Thankful People Come was
sung. Rev. Judith gave words of
welcome and everyone Passed
the Peace.
The Indroit We Praise You For
Your Love was sung. Rev. Judith
led in the Call to Worship
responsively and everyone read
the opening prayer.
Kathy Bray lit the red candle
for peace. Rev. Judith read the
Old Testament Lesson
Deuteronomy 8:7-18. Rev.
Judith told the children "I'm
Thinking Of Children" and had
them drawing.
The choir numbering 15 sang
We Thank You Lord to a CD
accompaniment which was well
done.
The Epistle Lesson 2
Corinthians 6-15 was read by
Kathy Bray.
The title of Rev. Judith's mes-
sage was "Yaddah, Yaddah,
Yaddah." We were given our
sheets and we were to write
what we were thankful for and
then they were read out.
The hymn For The Fruit Of All
Creation was sung.
The Affirmation Of Our Faith
"A New Creed" was read in uni-
son. Karen Etherington and
Sharon Lynn received the offer-
ing.
The Doxology was sung with
Jean Hodgert as accompanist.
The Offering Prayer was read in
unison. Rev. Judith had prayers
for the people, mostly farmers.
The hymn All Creatures of our
God and King was sung.
Rev. Judith gave the
Commissioning and pronounced
the Benediction. Everyone sang
the Choral Benediction. The
front of the church was tasteful-
ly decorated with small sheaves
of wheat and a pyramid of veg-
etables and fruit and also
downstairs was a horn of plenty
with vegetables and fruit which
was done by the worship com-
mittee. It was a very beautiful
Thanksgiving theme.
