POLICE BRIEFS
Truck seized under
legislation
HURON EAST — A 37 -year-old Exeter man was
charged under the Street Racing legislation after an inci-
dent Oct. 2.
On Oct. 2, at approximately noon, Huron OPP officers
were conducting traffic enforcement on North Line in
Huron East in a 60 km/h zone. A transport truck entered
the area travelling at 111 km/h and was stopped by offi-
cers in Winthrop. As a result of the investigation, the dri-
ver had his licence suspended for seven days and the
tractor portion of the unit was impounded for seven
days. Due to the fact that the trailer was carrying perish-
able goods, it was removed from the area with another
tractor.
The driver will be in Goderich Court on Nov. 6.
Speeding complaint
LUCAN BIDDULPH — A 21 -year-old North Middlesex
man and a 31 -year-old Lucan Biddulph man have been
charged with speeding after Middlesex OPP received a
complaint of two vehicles racing on Elginfield Road.
Both vehicles were found speeding 120 km/h in an 80
km/h zone.
Rash of break-ins to
seasonal cottages
GRAND BEND — Lambton OPP are investigating as
many as four break-ins to seasonal cottages in the
Grand Bend area.
Eyewitness accounts allege that they heard banging
from the cottages in question at around 1:30 a.m. on the
morning of Oct. 6 and that a male party was seen lurk-
ing in the area of a nearby cottage.
An SUV playing loud music was seen by another neigh-
bour driving slowly through the area during the same
time period. There are no descriptors of the male or the
vehicle.
• Hill Street — Culprits forced and broke glass in an
exterior door that leads to the cottage. Entry was not
gained as the door was secured for the winter from the
inside.
• Beach Lane — Entry was gained by forcing a window
air conditioner. Once inside, closets and cabinets were
rummaged through. It is not known at this time if any-
thing was taken.
• Beach lane — Entry was gained by forcing a side
door. Once inside, thieves rummaged through closets
and cupboards. It is not known if anything is missing
• Dietrich Crescent —: Entry was gained by forcing a
side door. Once inside, it is believed that thieves stole a
television set and other miscellaneous items.
