The Times Advocate, 2008-09-24, Page 24Wednesday, September 24, 2008 SPORTS 4-3 loss for Lucan LUCAN - The Lucan Irish opened their season Friday night in Thamesford with a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Trojans. After Thamesford took an early 1-0 lead, Zac Yeo tied it for Lucan before Thamesford took the lead with a shorthanded goal in the second. Chris Van Kasteren tied it again with a power play goal in the third before the Trojans fired two more for a 4-2 lead. Mike Spenser got the Irish close with six seconds left but it was all Lucan could get. The team defeat- ed the National Capital Senior Baseball Association and the Eastern Ontario Baseball Association, both by 5-4 scores. The WOBA team also beat the Inter county Baseball Association 12-11 and the Southern Counties Association by a 17-4 score.
