President Anne Cottel welcomed all and presided for the business portion of the meeting. Roll call: "Bring your favourite teddy bear and tell about it" - was answered by 12 members. The theme was to come dressed in night time apparel. Motto was "Everything in life I share, except of course my Teddy Bear." Anna Cottel gave Teddy Bear trivia. Rally in Belgrave Oct. 6 to be attended by Alma Davey, Anne Cottel, Jean Neil, Lois Brownlee, Rosemary Neeb and Jane Dearing. London Area Convention has no member attending this year. W.I. Hall supplies to be counted Tues., Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. Members are asked to participate that evening. Harvest Festival in Kirkton Oct. 2 has eight members attending. Each member brought an item from home that they no longer use. We then had a tooney sale of the items. Anne Cottel and Noella Tiebner served a delicious light lunch. Baptism service at Granton -Wesley UC By Muriel Lewis GRANTON CORRESPONDENT GRANTON - Quadro Communications Telephone Company held its annual customer appre- ciation barbecue on Thurs., Sept. 18 at the Sebringville Community Centre which was well attended. The Granton Masonic Hall board sponsored their popular annual fish fry at the Kirkton-Woodham community centre on Sun., kr- Sept. 21. A memorial Masonic ser- vice was held for former Granton resident Bruce Grant (1920-2008) on Sun., Sept. 21 at the Granton park pavilion at 1 p.m. Private family arrange- ments followed at the Granton cemetery. At Granton -Wesley United Church on Sun., Sept. 21, the Christ candle was lit by Owen Ingram. Pastor Paul Vollick led the service and baptized Isaac Guy Adams Ingram, son of Craig and Carolyn Ingram and brother of Owen. The Scripture readings were from Matthew 20 and Exodus 16 and the mes- sage was entitled, "That's not fair". At St. Paul's Anglican Church in Kirkton on Sun., Sept. 21, Rev. Dalice Sim led the service of morning prayer. The message was about serving God with reverence and thanksgiv- ing. Brent Blackler read the Lessons.
