More grants needed
CLINTON — Local leaders are grateful for recent
infrastructure money, but more is needed, says the
Clinton News -Record.
While Huron County Warden John Bezaire says the
funding is welcome, he added neither the provincial
or federal governments have addressed requests for
sustainable funding.
Bezaire said half as much money over 10 years
would be acceptable if it allowed long term planning
Huron County will receive $605,000, while Central
Huron will see $649,000.
Soldier deploys
CLINTON — About to deploy to Afghanistan, Clinton
resident and Canadian soldier Justin Lyon is more
concerned for his family, says the Clinton News -
Record.
Lyon spoke at the Clinton and District Christian
School last week before deploying with the third bat-
talion of the Royal Canadian Regiment.
Lyon said his time in Afghanistan might be more dif-
ficult for his family and friends than it would be for
himself.
Lyon said he joined the Canadian Forces for "life
experience" and has received a lot of training since
enlisting a year and half ago.
