Granton's Wilhelm installed at meeting
TORONTO — At the 153rd annual meeting
of the Grand Lodge of Canada in the Province
of Ontario held in Toronto July 16-17, Robert
C. Wilhelm of Granton Lodge No. 483 was
installed as District Deputy Grand Master of
South Huron Masonic District which extends
from Grand Bend to Carlow and as far east
as Stratford and St. Marys.
Freemasonry is a fraternity which seeks to
give men an opportunity to improve them-
selves in all aspects of their lives. Their mis-
sion is to encourage a way of life, promote
fellowship and practice universal benevo-
lence and one's faith for the cause of good.
One such program this year is the
MasoniCh.I.P. Child ID Program. The pro-
gram in Ontario consists of five major compo-
nents — vital child information, digital finger
prints, digital photographs, a digital video,
and a dental bite impression. All of this data
is burned onto a CD, and given to the parent
or guardian.
Should the case arise, within 42 seconds of
the local police entering your CD into their
computer, the Amber Alert broadcast is sent
throughout their system
This program is brought exclusively to
Ontario families by Masons, free of charge.
This program has worked successfully in
numerous other jurisdictions throughout
North America for many years.
The first `District Day' to begin the program
was held in Goderich Aug. 23, where 153
children were recorded. In the coming
months, every lodge in the district will be
holding a day when children can be entered
in the program.
The MasoniCh.I.P Child ID Program is a
registered charity eligible for tax receipts.
Anyone wishing to donate may send a cheque
payable to "MasoniCh.I.P. Ontario," 306
Russell St., Woodstock, Ont., N4S 2Z6 or in
care of their local Masonic Lodge.
