Take advantage of local exercise programs in Zurich

ZURICH - Fitness classes are being
held at St. Boniface School every
Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 p.m.
to 7:30 p.m. and Pilates classes are from
7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Stability ball
classes are on Saturdays from 9 to 10
a.m. in the school gym or may be out-
side if the weather is nice. For more
information call Jeanette Masse at 236-
4160.
If any children in the area missed reg-
istration for Beavers (ages 5-7) , Cubs
(ages 8-10), or Scouts (ages 11-14) on
Wed., Sept. 8 from 7-8 p.m. at the
Zurich Public School gym. They can still
do so by calling Marianne Keller at 236-
7418 as soon as possible.
Exercise for Seniors
Come join the Exercise for Seniors
program held at the complex in Zurich
for 15 weeks with Judy Dougall from
Sept. 10 to Dec. 17 every Wednesday
morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Seniors Diners meal is served at noon.
The Seaforth Harmony Kings 25th
anniversary show is on Sat., Sept. 27 at
8 p.m. at the Seaforth Public School.
Advance tickets are $12.50 and $15 at

Rostering
Patients of Dr. Hurley and Annie
Morris, nurse practioner are being
asked to register with the Family Health
Team by filling out forms at the doctor's
office.
There will be a special clinic held at
the complex for this purpose on Thurs.,
Sept., 25 from 5-8 p.m. and again on
Sat., Sept. 27 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
There will be a Blood Donor Clinic at
the complex in Zurich on Sat., Sept. 13
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Carmel recently enjoyed celebrating
her 64th birthday (Aug. 30) with her
family at J.D.'s in Bayfield.
Kingsfield Zurich Mennonite
Church
The Heart to Heart Fall Session will
run from Sept. 9 to Nov. 4 every
Tuesday morning at the Zurich
Mennonite Church from 9:30 a.m. to
noon. To register call Jenn Ramer at

A very enjoyable evening was held at
the Mennonite Church last Thurs., Sept.
4 when a ladies night was held to hear
Lea -Anne Ramer and Janelle Cressman
speak and show a video about their
recent mission trip to Colombia.
This was a 10 day mission trip where
six people were able to take 500 lbs of
clothing, tools, shoes, toys and hygiene
bags to the poor and displaced people of
Bogata, Columbia.
They were able to hand out about 200
US dollars of food. The women helped
at a school and a hospital and the men
went to a boys farm to work for a week.
Kingsfield ZMC has partnered with a
church in Bogata and all six people
went with the intention of extending a
blessing but they said they came back
blessed themselves.
Bean Sprouts
Bean Sprouts Nursery School will
begin on Wed., Sept. 24 form 9 a.m to
11:30 a.m. for children 2-5 years of age.
Classes are also held on Thursday and
Friday mornings.
D'Arcy and Shaeri Martin and family
along with his mother Grace recently
spent the holiday weekend camping at
Chesley Lake.
May we offer our sincere sympathy to
Cecilia Farwell on the recent death of
her son John.
Martin and Cheryl Gelinas spent from
Friday to Sunday going to Leamington
and Pelee Island as they celebrated
their wedding anniversary on Sept. 5
and her birthday Sept. 6.
The next Men's Breakfast will be held
at Erb's Country Kitchen on Sat., Sept.

Skating club
The Blue Water -Zurich Skating Club
registration will be held on Tues., Sept.
16 from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at the complex.

Members of the Blue Water Men's Tug
of War Team competed in Sweden from
Sept. 4-7 at the World Championships.

David Bennett.
At St. Boniface School welcome to Mrs.
Heather George (in October) and to Mr.
Rodney Marsh, our principal again this
year.

Grand opening for cafe
Cafe renovations — Queensway Retirement Living and Nursing Home in Hensall celebrated the grand
opening of its renovated Cafe Sept. 2. Pictured from left are 35 -year volunteer Iva Reid, administrator Kathy

Women's Auxiliary were among those who celebrated the new changes at Queensway.The installation of
new cupboards and appliances was made possible by memorial donations from family and friends of former
residents.A commemorative plaque was unveiled after
lunch and the ribbon cutting. Residents and family
members are welcome to use the Cafe at any time to
enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation. The room can
also be booked for small functions and meetings.

Young Eagles
set to soar
BLUEWATER — After initially being rained out in
June, a Young Eagles Day is planned for this Saturday at
Sexsmith Airport from 9 a.m. until noon.
The Young Eagles day is an opportunity for youths
aged eight to 17 to take free airplane rides and learn
about aviation. Lunch will be provided for the Young
Eagles and there will be a viewing area and displays
from the Exeter fire department.
Registration is limited. John Beimers, one of the orga-
nizers of the event, said he hopes to have 120 youths
taking rides on eight planes.

limited registration available Saturday at the airport
between 9-10 a.m.

Lambton OPP long
weekend wrap-up
LAMBTON — Lambton OPP officers responded to 315
calls for service between Fri., Aug. 29, and Mon., Sept. 2.
One hundred of those calls were in Grand Bend. It was
the quietest long weekend of the summer reported in
Grand Bend with just over 100 charges laid including 61
Liquor Licence Act violations.
