HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Times Advocate, 2008-09-03, Page 1616 SPORTS Times -Advocate Wednesday, September 3, 2008 Bantam baseball Fun season -The Usborne Bantam boys wrapped up a great ball season recently.They played in the Tri- County league being the champions in regular season play with a record of 16 wins and one Ioss.At the wrap up tournament in Benmiller they had lost two close games in the 'A' pool and were eliminated.All season the boys showed great sportsmanship not only to the other teams and umpires but to each other. The junior shooters had their targets and shells supplied free of charge from local gun club and personal donations. One hundred targets were thrown from the 16 -yard line for the competition and a barbeque was held after the shoot. The fol- lowing are the individual class winners for the day: A -Doug Kurt 99, B -Erin Collins 94, C -Joanne Pollock 80, D -Bryce Mann -75, Chuck Krieger -96 Dianne Wood - 95. High Average on 500 targets over the trap season was Steve Johnson with 95.4 per cent. He receives four free rounds of tar- gets. The club will continue to shoot trap until the end of September on Wednesday nights. It will then commernce skeet shooting on Saturday afternoon's starting in October.
