Uplifting one woman
show by Lil' Audrey
HENSALL — It was difficult to decide on a highlight of
the week because there were so many special events
happening this last week of August.
Several residents enjoyed a trip to Stratford park for a
picnic on the riverbank Wednesday. We had a beautiful
day watching the swans and their downy cygnets and
residents had a hard time obeying the posted signs, to
not feed the swans. One resident was thrilled to meet
up with a colleague from his days as a Justice of the
Peace.
Retirement Home residents had a great day Sun.,
Aug. 24 when Larry McQuarrie entertained at their
barbecue. Residents were pleased to have such a good
turnout of their family and friends.
The Lakeview Mennonite Singers sang their Gospel
music throughout the halls of Queensway Tuesday
evening with several residents commenting on what a
treat it is to hear acappela music with the four part
harmony.
"Lil' Audrey" entertained at the August Birthday
Party Aug. 28 presenting a great one woman show, full
of positive, uplifting energy as she sang all of the old
favourites. Thank you to Lillian Beer and Edna Deitz for
assisting at the program.
Resident council met Friday to review and give feed-
back regarding the past month and offer ideas and
opinions about upcoming events. We are looking for-
ward to attending the Threshers Reunion in Blyth Sept.
5.
