It's magic — London's "That Magic Guy" Peter Mennie was at the Lucan Library Aug. 27 performing his
magic show as the Lucan Library wrapped its Laugh Out Loud (LOL) Summer Reading Program for kids
senior kindergarten to Grade 4. Mennie entertained in front of over 100 people with a performance that fea-
tured blow-up balloons.Above from left, Mennie steps on a balloon he made, while right, Lucan's Emily Brown

Our liver is an amazing organ. It produces fluids
to aid in digestion. It converts our food into
energy and releases the energy as we need it. It
filters alcohol and other toxins from our blood and
changes them into substances our bodies can
discard. Our liver also absorbs and adapts the
medicines we take helping our body use the medicine and discard
the residue.
We must learn to take care of this powerhouse in our bodies. We
can't live without it. Here are some ideas on how to take care of our
livers:
Take only medications that have been prescribed by your doctor and
obtain good professional advice on other non -prescribed products.
Also limit the amount of alcohol you drink and don't mix alcohol and
medications together. If you are using aerosol sprays, especially of a
pesticide nature, use a mask and don't breathe in the fumes. The
liver will have to detoxify those chemicals as well.
To keep your liver healthy, keep your weight under control by cutting
down on deep-fried and fatty foods that could cause gall stones, a
related liver problem. Also, and you hear this so often, start on a
regular exercise routine of a least three times per week for at least 30
minutes. The exercise should be appropriate to your current health
situation so get some advice about that.
We only have one liver. We have to take good care of it. An
awareness of a healthy liver lifestyle will help us live a long and
happy life.

Dated at the Municipality of South Huron
This 28th day of August, 2008. Sandra Strang, Clerk,
Municipality of South Huron,

Exeter, Ontario, NOM 1 S6

PURPOSE AND EFFECT
There is increasing popularity in storage containers being
used by individuals and businesses within the Municipality of
South Huron. Concerns have arisen relating to the appropri-
ateness of such containers and how existing by-laws control
the placement and setbacks for the containers.
The Ontario Building Code Commission recently made a
ruling that an individual or business is required to get a
building permit prior to installing a storage container on
their property.
A review of existing municipal zoning by-laws indicate
there are currently limited mechanisms for controlling the
placement of storage containers. Therefore, the Municipality
of South Huron has initiated this zoning by-law amendment
to implement zone provisions that will regulate the zones in
which storage containers are permitted and will regulate
how they are placed on a property.
This zoning by-law amendment proposes to permit storage
containers to be permitted as accessory structures in the fol-
lowing zones in the Municipality of South Huron:
Stephen &
Osborne Wards
Agriculture (AG1, AG2, AG3, AG4),
Industrial (VM1, VM2), Salvage Yard (C4),
Communications & Utility (U)
Exeter Ward
Highway Commercial (C5), Grouped
Commercial (C5.1), Industrial (M1 M2)
It is proposed that storage containers will not permitted to
be installed as an accessory use in any other zone.
This zoning By-law amendment amends By-law 12-1984,
Stephen Township Zoning By-law; By-law 13-1984, Usborne
Township Zoning By-law; and Town of Exeter Zoning By-law
30-1978; all being By-laws of the Corporation of the
Municipality of South Huron.
