Make the roads safe
Heading to class — It was back to school for students Tuesday morn-
ing.Above, the Fletcher family heads towards Exeter Public School. In

The peaceful silence of a Sunday afternoon has just been
shattered by yet another accident at the corner of
Huron Street East and the Morrison Line.
The summer long rebuilding project due to the
bridge reconstruction on Highway 83 has made
it necessary for drivers to take the mandatory
detour that brings them south on the Morrison
Line. The corner of Huron Street and the
Morrison Line is not a four way stop. Unfortunately,
some have assumed that it is. The result of that miscon-
ception has resulted in a great deal of physical and physi-
ological injury as well as thousands of dollars in col-
lateral damage over the summer months. I
believe it's time for the municipality to take
the necessary steps to make this corner safe
until the bridge reconstruction is complete.
Please do not wait until someone loses his
or her life before you act responsibly.
