EXETER — After seven years as prin-
cipal of South Huron District High
School, Hensall's Jeff Reaburn is start-
ing the next phase of his career in edu-
cation.
Reaburn announced in his weekly
Times -Advocate column last week that
he was leaving the school to become
the system principal of information ser-
vices for the Avon Maitland District
School Board. Reaburn's new job offi-
cially started Monday, although he was
already settling into his new role last
week.
As a system principal, Reaburn will
administer and manage the use of tech-
nology in the board's schools with an
aim to promote the use of technology in
the classroom and improve student
achievement. He will also oversee stu-
dent data collection.
Reaburn said his interest in technolo-
gy has grown over the past years and
Jeff Reaburn
as principal of South
Huron he encouraged
the growth of a digital
audio program,
brought in Smart
Boards (an interac-
tive white board used
as a teaching
method), and started
mobile computer
labs.
Reaburn said he is
sad to be leaving
SHDHS and says he will miss the
school, students and staff, but he is
looking forward to the new challenges
his job at the board will bring him.
Reaburn says the school means "a
great deal" to him. As a graduate of the
school himself, Reaburn's wife and chil-
dren also attended the school, making
the decision to leave even tougher.
Reaburn admits it was "strange at
first" when he returned to South Huron
as principal seven years ago — there

New museum
done this week

LUCAN — The new Lucan Museum will be com-
pleted this week, according to Lucan Heritage trea-
surer Sheila Hodgins.
"The museum will be completed by K&L
Construction of Hyde Park the first week of
September and is looking great," says Hodgins, who
adds, "It was our goal right from the beginning to
have our new museum blend in with all the other
buildings on the Main Street and this has been
achieved. It has been a lot of years in the workings
and a tremendous amount of dedication and hard
work on the part of many people in the community
to get to this point in time but well worth it to see
such a superb building."
Although the exterior of the building will be fin-
ished, Hodgins says, continued support is still need-
ed by the community for the interior of the building.
In the meantime, Hodgins says the Heritage com-
mittee is focusing on two priorities.
"One is the signage which will be installed on the
front of the building over the porch and will say
'Lucan Area Heritage & Donnelly Museum'. We
believe the signage will certainly make a statement
and because of its size, will be very visible from the
road," says Hodgins, adding the second item of pri-
ority is, "Selecting a 'Wall of Fame' in the lobby. It
was very important that each and every donor be
recognized for their financial support. Heritage
members are now in the process of calling each and
every donor to get their correct information for our
Wall of Fame."
The opening ceremony will be held in the spring,
with a committee already formed to begin planning
and organizing this event.
