It is alleged that the officer observed a 1999 Mercury driving very slowly through the lot. The male driver's upper body was leaning out the driver's window and he was yelling at people. The driver then opened his door and almost fell out as his vehicle struck a parked car. No injuries were reported and only minor damage was sustained. The dri- ver was arrested and subsequent tests indi- cated that a 20 -year-old London man was over two times the legal limit. He will appear in Sarnia Court Sept. 29 to answer to the charges of impaired driving and being over the legal limit. Two times legal limit BLUEWATER — On July 24 a Huron OPP officer was patrolling Bluewater Highway in Bluewater when a northbound vehicle passed at a high rate of speed. The vehicle continued northbound through Bayfield at a speed above the posted 50 kph limit. The officer initiated a traffic stop and while speaking to the driver, determined that the driver was exhibiting classic symptoms of impairment. The driver was arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified breathalyzer techni- cian and provided two samples of his breath. The readings confirmed the driver to have approximately two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system. A 35 -year-old Ingersoll man was charged with impaired driving and driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in his system. His driver's licence was suspend- ed for 90 days. He returns to Goderich Court Sept. 29 to answer to his charges. Zurich road closure ZURICH — Starting Aug. 7 at 7 a.m., Goshen Line will close for a culvert replacement until Sept. 1.
