Skating Club registration this Saturday after the parade

ZURICH - Congratulations to
newly weds Meghan Regier and
Jim Seaton who were married
on Sat., July 19 at Mount
Carmel Church with dinner and
reception held at Hessenland.
The bride is the daughter of
Randy and Nancy Regier of RR
#3 Zurich.
Congratulations go out to Phil
and Linda Regier of Zurich who
celebrated their 40th wedding
anniversary on July 20. A spe-
cial mass was held on Saturday
at 2:30 p.m at St. Boniface
Church followed by supper and
open house in the evening at the
Bluewater Complex. Several
relatives, family members and
friends were in attendance.
Congratulations go out to
Larry and Barb Robinson of
Zurich on the occasion of their
40th anniversary July 20.
The couple spent a few days
away this week visiting with
friends in Tawas City Michigan.
Leo and Irene Hoffman
recently spent a few days in
Sudbury and visited with a
friend Mrs. Florence Legault.
Pat and Evelyn Regier of RR 3
Zurich are happy to announce
the arrival of their 20th grand-
child Ruby Jane born on July 15
to proud parents Roxanne and
Andrew McClenaghan of
London.
Ted and Hilda Lansbergen
and grandson Montana spent
the weekend in Oil springs and
took part in a Horse Show
Competition.
Zurich Fair this weekend!

from Friday to Sunday.
Elimination draw tickets are still
available for $10 for the dance
(July 25) starting at 8 p.m. on
the ice surface at the complex.
If you don't have a ticket admis-
sion at the door is only $15 per
person. The event includes
dancing to a live band called
Quarter Mile Lane with singer
Kati Durst and a delicious lunch
served at 11 p.m.
WorldYouth Day 2008
Sixteen young people from the
Zurich area along with leaders
Fr. Peter Keller and Heidi Klopp
travelled to the Martyr Shrine in
Midland taking part in the
Regional World Youth Day's cel-
ebration. Andrew Hartman is
currently in Sdyney, Australia
attending World Youth Day
2008.
A recognition Ceremony will
be held at the rest home on
Wed., July 23 at 1 p.m for all
who assisted with the Rest Well
Campaign. Everyone is wel-
come.
A family get-together was held
at the home of Pat and Steve
Meidinger on Sun., July 20 to
help their Dad celebrate his
birthday.

1 cup whipping cream
I /8 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1 pkg. (19 oz) frozen tortellini or a dry pasta
Your favorite cooked vegetables and meat (broccoli,
mushrooms and chicken work well)
In a saucepan melt butter over med-low heat add cream and
nutmeg. Heat through but do not boil. Stir in parmesan
cheese until melted. Cook tortellini or other pasta according
to directions, drain. Transfer to a large serving bowl. Add hot
vegetables and meat as desired and the toss with sauce.

On Tues., July 7 the program
began with a `welcome day' at
the complex. The kids enjoyed
sports, games and activities.
Each Friday they go to the
park for 'wet and wild' days
with their leaders.
The week of July 14 the kids
did creative art and had a
nature day. They enjoyed
watching movies along with
doing lot of other activities and
playing on the playground
equipment.
Local music teacher
honoured
Aimee Rau (Music For Young
Children piano teacher) of RR 2
Zurich recently attended the
M.Y.C. conference in Niagara
Falls from July 11 - 14 where
she received an award for the
theme song she wrote for MYC.
The Ladies Auxiliary meeting
will be coming up soon on
Tues., Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m. at the
Rest Home with Carmel and
Hilda in charge.
Quilt tickets are now available
for the Bean Festival in August.
The annual Smith Family
reunion was held on July 12
with relatives attending from far
and near. Due to rain that day,
the event was held at the
Alhambra Hall in Grand Bend.
A wrap-up weekend for the
Travel Light trip coming up in
August was held for the 20
young people from the Lutheran
Church who are going to White
Horse from Aug. 11 - 21 along
with their five leaders. The
group are gathering from places
such as Woodstock, Milverton,
London and Zurich. The wrap-
up weekend was held at the
home of Donna and Herb Klopp.
The group slept in tents and
cooked their meals outdoors
with Sharia and Mike Ciupak
and Tracy Luther.
Cassie Groot, 17 year old
daughter of Patty and Joey
Groot of RR 1 Zurich along with
a girlfriend Ali Leslie of Exeter,
travelled by train to Montreal
and Quebec for two weeks for
the 400th Anniversary festivi-
ties.
Blue Water Rest Home
It's nice to see that Josie
Denomme has recently been
able to move to the Blue Water
Rest Home.
Residents have been enjoying
various summer activities to
keep busy such as having picnic
lunches and barbecues outdoors
in the courtyard.
The Grand Bend ladies held
the July birthday party on July
15, and they played bingo.
Some residents went on a bus
ride to see the horses at the
Eilers farm. Harvey Smith and
Corky Bedard and groups have
played music. Bill Gibson and
the Lakeview Choir have enter-
tained in the auditorium.
A lovely neighbour get-togeth-
er and social barbecue and
potluck supper was held July 16
at the home of Elena and Jack
Baker with 16 of us attending.
The Zurich and Bluewater
Skating Club will be having their
registration at the complex this
Sat., July 26 after the Zurich
Fair Parade (which begins at
Noon starting from the public
school).

There will also be lots of chil-
dren's games to play at the fair
along with a petting zoo etc. (no
charge).
A sincere thank you from
Albert and Wilma Erb to their
family and friends for the gifts,
cards and flowers along with
the preparations for their 60th
anniversary celebrations.
Everything was greatly appreci-
