Artistic talent — The fifth annual hensall.by.design Juried Art Show
and Sale opened to the public July 12, running until Friday.The art
show also hosted a private function July 11, which included an
announcement from Glenn Hayter of the Dundee Wealth Management
Company. Hayter says they will sponsor a "Habitat for Humanity" cat-
egory, where artists are challenged to paint a Huron County scene.
The winner receives $750 for their painting, with its reproduction
rights going to Habitat for Humanity supporting fundraising efforts.
Hensall.by.design will also donate a portion of the entry fees and com-
missions for the paintings sold in that category.Above from left are

tee member Linda Firman and committee member Ann Bayley. Over
60 artists, exhibiting paintings, sculptures, jewellery, photography, digi-
tal art and fabric are featured in this year's art show. Since its incep-
tion, the hensall.by.design Art Show and Sale has attracted more than
75 artists from around Ontario and the United States. Below, Grand
Bend artist Bill Nieuwland stands with his acrylic painting,"Glen Falls,
Arkona." The winners were announced July 11 and include: Flatwork
Renee Knight, Nixa, Missouri, "Autumn Splash,"
Photography /Digital Art Elizabeth Levesque, Zurich, "Anatomically
Correct," Fabric Judith Elder -McCartney, Seaforth "Celebration of
Seasons" Sculpture Andy Johnson, London,"Sculptured Tree,"
First -Time Exhibitor Elizabeth Jay, Mitchell,"Evening Storm Clouds,"
Youth Junior, Nichole Dunn, Zurich,"Into the Woods," Youth Senior
Meghan Collins, Hensall,"Bioshock" (after Ken Levine)," Honourable
Mention Julia Pitre, London, "Up, Up and Away" (from Youth
Category). On Friday the People's Choice Award will be presented.
