CEMF coming
to Grand Bend
GRAND BEND — The
Cutting Edge Music Festival
(CEMF), Ontario's four day
music and camping festival,
returns to Grand Bend,
Ontario for the August long
weekend.
Headlined by Alexisonfire
and Mix Master Mike of the
Beastie Boys the CEMF offers
concert -goers a multiple day
music and camping experi-
ence.
"We're really excited to
play Cutting Edge again. We
had a lot of fun last year.
The kids in the crowd were
crazy," says Dallas Green, of
Alexisonfire
On Aug. 3 the CEMF will
transform the Grand Bend
Motorplex into a camping
festival, with two live music
stages, a dance tent, beer
gardens, drag racing, spon-
sor areas and beach access.
The Budweiser Big Rig and
stage will also be on site,
adding an extra element to
the experience.
With over 12,000 music
lovers attending in 2007, the
2008 CEMF continues to
evolve the traditional concert
event.
"Cutting Edge brings new
rock, dance and camping
together to create an experi-
ence that's more than just a
concert," says host Josie Dye
of 102.1 The Edge.
CEMF is Ontario's largest
multiple day music and
camping festival.

being announced daily.

MS bike tour set for July 26 and 27
LONDON — Organizers of the 18th
Annual Rona MS Bike Tour -
Grand Bend to London expect
1500 cyclists to participate on
July 26 and 27 and to raise
over three quarters of a mil-
lion dollars for the Multiple
Sclerosis Society of Canada.
Grand Bend residents, Bob and
Kim Case, are gearing up for their
tenth and eleventh exciting tour both
cycling and volunteering.
Kim Case looks back at the past 10 years
as a volunteer with the Rona MS bike tour
with many memories. A decade ago the
Case's saw the Bike Tour pass by their
Grand Bend home and thought, "That is
something we can do to help" as they were
personally familiar with the disease as
Case's sister was also diagnosed over a
year ago. The couple approach reaching
Bob's (a cycling tour participant and group
tour leader), fundraising goal by asking
friends, family and contacts the pair have
acquired from their own business to
pledge any donation they can in order
to help beat MS. Case admits that it's
difficult at times as everyone has their
charity of choice but if you leave peo-
ple with a no obligation option, they
are more willing to contribute.
With a laugh Case can only think of
one word to describe the tour:
Overwhelming "As a volunteer you
are so busy, and as a cyclist you are so
focused (and sore) that it's easy to get
caught up in everything, but once you
step back and look at so many people
working so hard to end MS it becomes
very emotional." Bob's words of
advice and encouragement to those
cycling are to get out there as much as
possible, it's not a race but you need
to get comfortable on the bike for a
day of riding and not to worry about
the distance because there are so
many volunteers and staff to help you
out or give you a SAG wagon ride to
wherever you need to be. "Do it! It's
lots of fun, get involved."
Raising over $860,000 in 2008, the Rona
MS Bike Tour - Grand Bend to
London is the largest single
fundraiser for the Multiple
Sclerosis Society in Southwestern

The first goal is having fury,
vision, and balance problems. Symptoms
can range from subtle nerve sensations to
severe pain, and possibly severe paralysis.
The Cases would like to thank the
Multiple Sclerosis Society, the volunteers,
the cyclists and the community for their
Ontario and is the largest Rona continued support and generosity.

addition to funding

bers, caregivers, and health
care professionals.
Multiple sclerosis is an
unpredictable and often dis-
abling disease of the central
nervous system. Canada has
one of the highest rates of MS,
a disease for which the cause
and the cure are currently
unknown. Common symp-
toms are extreme fatigue,
