Celebrity golfer — Joe Fulop (center) was presented with the
`Celebrity of the Day' plaque by Doug and Cathy Ellison June 25 at the
Ellison Travel Golf tournament at Ironwood Golf Course. Doug said
while the tournament used to bring in people from outside the commu-
nity, it was decided that starting this year, a local resident would be rec-
ognized. Doug said Fulop was selected for his teaching career as well as
being active in hardball. A donation for $1,000 in Fulop's name was
made to Parkinson's research and an $8,500 donation was made to the
South Huron Hospital which is part of a $25,000 pledge from the com-
pany to the hospital. (photo/submitted)

U7 Gold
The coaches are so
proud of the many
skills we see develop-
ing in our U7 Gold
team. This week's vic-
tory game was proof of
this. Nolan and Kobe
did a fabulous job in
net stopping many
shots by keeping their
eye on the ball and not
being afraid to grab it.
Nathan was an excel-
lent team player, pass-
ing the ball to help
Kennedy with her goal.
Vanessa and Katie
were keeping their eye
on the ball when play-
ing defensively and not
letting the green play-
ers past them.
Cameron used both the
inside and the outside
of his foot to maintain
ball control many
times throughout the
game which helped
Nathan score goals.
Meghan is improving
at running quickly
toward the ball when
playing in any position.
Colin's dribbling skills
from end to end helped
him with his goal.
Solid improvement
Gold Team!
U-9 Red
Exeter Red 5 versus
Exeter Blue 1
Goals: Brandon (2),
Lucas (2), Alek
Comments: Yet
another well rounded
game played by all!
The team displayed
some outstanding
defense, as well as
offense, to go with the
great goaltending duo
of Cameron and
Hannah. Good luck in
the season finale on
Tuesday!
U9
South Huron 0 versus
Grand Bend Blue 1
Goalies: Charlie and
Brian
Comments: Excellent
game, great defending
by James and Nicole in
a very tough 1-0 loss.
The passing was awe-
some keep it up.

Nabisco Exeter
South Huron
Lightning 2 versus
Lambeth 0
Comments: The
return match in Exeter
was pretty much a car-
bon copy of the one
last week in Lambeth.
Both teams played
really hard. A well
taken goal by Emma
McVeeny (first in the
U11 age group) in the
first minute and an
equally strong finish by
Jamiee Clarke late in
the second separated
these two teams. Way
to go girls with another
hard fought victory.
July 3
Klondyke Field Grand
Bend.
Grand Bend 5 versus
South Huron Lighting 1
Comments: A goal in
the last minute of the
first half and late in the
second for Grand Bend
was the big difference
in this game. The girls
played really hard and
had some good scoring
opportunities in both
halves. A great finish
by Maaike early in the
second half gave the
girls the lift they
deserved for their
efforts and made
things interesting.
Although the two -
game win streak has
come to an end the
girls are growing in
confidence and skill as
we move into the last
six games of the sea-
son and they set their
sights on Challenge
Cup. Let's go for it
girls.
U13
July 2
Comments: South
Huron's U13 Fury girls
played a strong game
against Lucan, suc-
cessfully winning 4-1.
Goals were scored by
Meagan McVeeney,
Kelsey Becker and
Rebecca Glavin. Good
job Rachel Hall on
strong defensive play.
Keep up the good work
girls!!
U13
South Huron 3
Coldstream 3
Comments: An excel-
lent team performance
against a very good
team. A good defensive
display from Jason S.,
Carson, Kaleb, Chris,
Jared, Noah and Koen.
With `keepers Kaleb
and Sean doing a stand
up job. An incisive dis-
play of speed and skill
gave Mark Anthony
two goals and Taylor
one goal. WELL DONE
BOYS.
