The high temperatures can cause the formation of heterocyclic amines (HCAs) which are carcinogenic. This happens with most meats, chicken, beef and pork and much less so with fish. Have you heard the term biological batteries? The rush is on to find an alternative energy source and hydrogen is a good one. It takes too much energy to produce hydrogen from water so researchers are using genetic manipulation to have the bacterium E. coli produce hydrogen as a by-product of its normal metabolism. This is in the very early stages of research but shows much promise. It was in 1988 that a new antidepressant, Prozac, burst on to the market. It quickly became the number one prescribed medication for depression. It has since spawned many similar ones since that time 20 years ago. It's common to experience cracked heels during the summer months. Here are two ways of treating this sometimes painful problem. First of all, ensure you drink enough water to keep the body hydrated. Secondly, choose a cream or lotion that contains urea. These types of creams help transport water that's in the product and on our skin to keep the skin moisturized. Regular applications are needed. `r tt Huron Apothecary Ltd. Phone 235-1982, ReaIL 440 Main St. Exeter Lr,_ "YOUR HEALTH CARE PHARMACY" PS j SECOND FLOOR PLAN 1043 SQ. FT.
