Exeter Public says goodbye to staff Zurich Scouts
By Pat Bolen
TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF
EXETER — After over 50 years
combined of working in schools, two
staff members at Exeter Public said
goodbye with a ceremony June 26.
Teacher Darlene Ellison, who has
taught for 30 years, and custodian
Bob Crawford, who has been a cus-
todian for 22 years, said they both
started with the Huron County
board of education.
After starting her career in 1978
and working at several schools in
the county, Ellison returned to
Exeter Public in 1991 and has been
there since.
Crawford was custodian at South
Huron District High School for 18
years before moving to Exeter
Public four years ago.
Ellison said there were several
people who meant the most to her,
including the children she taught
who are now parents as well as the
mentors who came before her.
"They made me the person I am."
Crawford says "I started with a
smile, and I'm leaving with a smile."
