(photos/submitted) Dove's Nest celebrates ten years By Pat Bolen TIMES -ADVOCATE STAFF EXETER — "It's been worthwhile, satisfying and humbling," says Liz Davis, manager of the Dove's Nest Thrift Shop in Exeter, which cele- brated its 10th anniversary on Friday. Davis says when the volunteers arrived at the empty building in 1998, she wondered how they would be able to fill it. In the 10 years since, Davis says the community has been generous with its donations of clothing and furniture and the volunteers have been able to help many people in need. Volunteer Sharron Coulter says the store is non -denominational and has donated to up to 10 local churches and is now helping six. Coulter says the Dove's Nest pro- vides items to families in situations such as being burned out or after getting out of abusive homes. She says there are 30 volunteers who work at the Dove's Nest , which has also sent items to Africa and Russia as well as the Diabetes Association. Davis says they have been told by many of their customers that they didn't know how they would have made it through without the help of the Dove's Nest. "We're just here to help," she says. i Business Directory REPAIRS Sewing Machine REPAIRS TO ALL MAKES Free estimates 90 day Warranty Experienced since 7952 Sew and Save Centre Ltd. 149 Downie St., Stratford Phone 271-9660 advertisers. . pay byphone We gladly accept payment for your account by Visa or Mastercard. call 519-235-1331 Sue Rollings today. a te,Ca,a BLUEWATER --..r— 2001 GRAND BEND SEWAGE TREATMENT FACILITY (STF) EXPANSION & UPGRADE CLASS ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT (EA) & PRELIMINARY DESIGN Public Information Centre The proposed expansion and upgrade of the Grand Bend STF will service portions of the Municipalities of Lambton Shores, South Huron and Bluewater over the next 20 years.
