MCFARLANE - Peacefully at
Longworth Longterm Care,
London, on June 19th, 2008,
Florence Underwood McFarlane
(Laidlaw) of London, formerly of
Chatsworth, ON, in her 90th
year. Predeceased by her
beloved husband Melville (1995).
Florence was a loving mother to
her children Nancy and Wayne
Pearce of Exeter, Myrna and
Bernie Fishman of Owen Sound,
Janice and Bert DeGroot of
London and Bill McFarlane and
Jill Haines of Owen Sound. She
will always be in the hearts of her
grandchildren Marnie; Steven,
Andrea and Craig; Jason and
Lindsey; Joel and Kathryn;
Melissa and Terry and Chris and
Laura; Sara and Jake. She will
be missed by her great-grandchil-
dren Jemima, Eli, Garrett, Luke,
Spencer, Lucie and Rylie. Dear
sister of Cam and Jane Laidlaw.
Florence was a determined
woman whose grace and strength
were an inspriation to her family
and those who knew her. She
never gve up or complained in
spite of significant challenges and
always greeted everyone with her
gentle smile. During her five
years at Longworth she received
exemplary and compassionate
care. Florence loved the staff
who cared for her, the volunteers
who visited her and especially
her dear friend Phyllis and fellow
residents. The family will always
be grateful to Longworth for
ensuring that Florence lived her
life with dignity. Interment
Chatsworth United Church
Cemetery. A celebration of her
life will be held on Wednesday,
June 25, 2008 at 12 noon United
Church Cemetery, Chatsworth,
Ont. In lieu of flowers memorial
donations may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society or the
Heart and Stroke Foundation.
