Great start - The South Huron Pumaz 12 intermediate team had an excellent start this year. It is their first
year in intermediate soccer and the Pumaz have been making an impact in their division. On June 7-8 they
entered their first select tournament, the Middlesex United Invitational. They knocked out a strong London
team in round robin play, 1-0 and also sent home a team from Burlington after an intense match. In the finals,
with eight minutes to play and deadlocked at 0-0, the game was called for severe weather.A coin toss was
used to decide the winner, which left South Huron with the silver medal. Back from left are coach Jerry
Wilder, Nicole Kaumanns,Alyssa Stephens, Sydney Kaumanns, Nicole Winters, EmilyVan Mierlo and assistant
coach TonyVan Mierlo. Middle: Danielle Vanderlaan, Nicole Smale, Nicole Devries, Sarah Krupka and Amanda
Verbeke. Front: Janece Boersma, Erinn Fragiskatos, Nicole Hamather, Nicole Willis and Rachel Wilder. Laying
down: Paige Keller and Alyssa Keller. (photo/submitted)
