Forrest said for the most of the season she was almost at the bottom of the standings. "My horse and I weren't getting along," said Forrest. "I wasn't con- centrating on what I was doing." Forrest said she wasn't paying as much attention to her horse Prince, who she had been riding for several years. In the last four weekends of the season, Forrest said it started to come together for her and Prince and in the last weekend, it was "neck and neck with another rider." With only a point and a half sepa- rating them, Forrest said what won the title for her was her improve- ment in the goat tying competition, which she said was her biggest improvement of the season. After riding Prince to the win, Forrest said she was happy to win with him. "He's done a lot for me. I'm grateful for that." Forrest, who is a student officer during the rodeo competitions and helps decide if a rider will get a re - ride, was also named by the board of directors as the top student officer for her knowledge of the rules and willingness to always help other competitors. Great team — Emily Forrest of Crediton, with her horse Prince, recently won the Ontario High School Rodeo high school division in Hillsburgh.
