He made the announcements and then introduced the Lifted Voices singing group from The First Mennonite Church in Kitchener. The group consists of: pianist Susan Pries, and singers Peggy Roth, Wendy Priebe, Carolyn Burkhardt, Jenn Jacobi, absent today was Nancy Mann. They have sung together for 19 years. One of the ladies gave the call to worship from Psalm 103. The ladies sang Rise Up. One of the ladies gave the theme "Hospitality" and led in prayer. Everyone sang I Love to Tell The Story. Jennifer had the children come for- ward; she spread a tablecloth in front of the children and gave each one a bal- loon to blow up along with biscuits and cheese, a plate and a serviette. Her story was entitled "Who Is My Guest?" She ended with a prayer. Only ladies read Luke 1:38-42. The ladies sang This Little Light of Mine, Now Thanks We All Our God. Psalm 84 was read and How Lovely Is Your Place. John 14:1-3 was read and Jerusalem, Jerusalem and Softly, Tenderly He Calls For Me (unaccompanied) were sung. Matthew 25:34-40 was read and then a story called "Martin The Cobbler" was told. The ladies sang the song I Was Hungry. An offertory prayer was given and Larry and Faye Skinner, Patti Brine and Matt Denham received the offering. Everyone sang the hymn We Are Pilgrims. One of the ladies led in prayer and then they all sang The Lord's Prayer. They led us in the commissioning and benediction, closing with the song We Are Going to See The King. Bill Denham thanked the ladies and they were given a standing ovation. Lastly fruit bread, biscuits, cheese and beverages were partaken of which brought a very meaningful service to a close. The service took in people from Centralia Zion, Kirkton-Woodham, Thames Road - Elimville churches. Announcements The Food Bank is urgently in need of plastic grocery bags. Instead of recy- cling, drop them off at the Food Bank. Don't forget your items for the Food Bank next Sun., June 1. June 1 - Induction Service for Mr. Peter Gummow will be held at Centralia United Church. June 8 - Strawberry Supper at S H Rec Centre from 5 -7 p.m. Adults $12, children five to 10 $6. Tickets available from Beth Cooper, Helen Kadey, Shirley Kerslake, Sharon Passmore, Virginia Warwick. June 8 - Camp Bimini open house 2 - 4 p.m. Come out and see the renova- tions. June 9 - UCW campsite experience from 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. at Camp Bimini. Theme speaker is Rev. Marion Jackson -Tyler. "Praise for Creation." Bring potluck lunch, dishes, hat, sunscreen, lawn chair and `Voices United book'. June 10 - UCW meeting at 8 p.m. The mission and out- reach committee is in charge of this meeting. Roll call: Bring toiletries for Pheonix House. Lunch: Beatrice Dawson, Myrtle Pengelly, Jean Hodgert, Marilyn Vandenbussche. The next council meeting will be June 11. Please note the change of date. June 15 - Baptism service Mon., June 16 - "Out In the Cold " Supper will be held in London. Outreach committee is looking for volunteers for Out of the Cold program. If you can help, contact Karen Etherington at 235-1628. June 22 - Mission and Service Sunday, worship ser- vice will be led by the outreach committee. June 29 - the church service will be held at MacNaughton Park. Nov. 20 - 21 -A Salute to Broadway Cabaret Show Rehearsals begin at the end of September. Singers and dancers are needed ages 18 - 80.
