Responsibilities would include:
• Preventative and proactive maintenance of grain elevators,
processing equipment, fertilizer and custom application
equipment
• Welding to include fitting and fabrication
• Troubleshooting - equipment breakdowns and repairs
• Blueprint reading and comprehension
Applicants would ideally have two years welding and cutting
experience and also have a minimum of a DZ driver's licence.
The ability to climb with no fear of heights is a necessity and
you must be willing to work overtime during peak periods.
Knowledge of grain cleaning equipment and HACCP proce-
dures would be considered an asset.

SPECIALIST.
As a member of the Operations department reporting to the
Quality Assurance Manager, you will be responsible for provid-
ing technical support for quality and food safety programs with a
focus on the audit measurement system for Thompsons Limited
group of companies.
Responsibilities would include:
> Promote quality programs throughout all divisions with
the company
> Support plant HACCP coordinators with the
development and review of HACCP plans
> Develop and implement the audit program for quality
and food safety systems
> Provide written and verbal reports related to quality
and food safety
> Assist in the development and writing of procedures
> Assist in expanding pilot projects to other areas within
the company
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a college diploma in
science or agriculture. Familiarity with quality control, com-
modity grading and statistical process control would be consid-
ered an asset. Consideration will be given to those applicants
currently in good standing as a Certified Quality Auditor (CQA)
or Certified HACCP (CHA) or are willing to obtain certification
through the American Society of Quality (ASQ).

Rhubarb Delight
THERE IS NOTHING QUITE LIKE RHUBARB IN THE SPRING AND
EARLY SUMMER! I LOVE TO DO ALL SORTS OF THINGS WITH
IT AND HAVE ENJOYED DRINKS, CRISPS, SAUCES, AND
DESSERTS. THE FOLLOWING RECIPE CAME FROM FAYE WHO I
WORK WITH AND IT MAKES A FUN, UNIQUE DESSERT FOR THE
GANG.
6 cup rhubarb washed, cut in small pieces
I cup white sugar
1 pkg. jello
2 cup mini marshmallows
Layer the above ingredients in a 9 by 13 inch pan starting
with the rhubarb and ending with the marshmallows.
Mix together
1/4 cup shortening
I/2 cup white sugar
I egg
1/2 cup milk
3/4 cup flour
I - la tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
When mixed well put over the marshmallows and bake in a
350 oven for about 40 minutes or till nicely browned and
bubbly. Enjoy the fun combination!
