"Making a Difference" —The staff at Midwestern Adult Day Services,
wearing their new"MakingA Difference Sister"T-shirts, show some enthusi-
asm for the recently adopted six-weekWorkplaceWellness Challenge.The
program was developed with the assistance of the Huron County Health
Unit. Participants can earn up to 30 points by drinking six to eight glasses of
water, eating five servings of fruits and vegetables and exercising for 20 min-
utes every day. Midwestern, which operates the five Adult Day Centres locat-
ed throughout Huron County, has gone all out in promoting good health
habits among its employees — those who obtain all 30 points will have their
name entered in a draw with the winner receiving one night's accommoda-
tion and buffet breakfast at the Deerhurst Resort, plus a $100 gift certificate

TIJAMES ROAD - Rev. Judith Ritchie was in charge of
the Pentecost / Mother's Day and the celebration of bap-
tism church service on Sunday morning.
Rev. Judith lit the Christ candle. Everyone sang the
opening hymn All Creatures of our God and King. Rev.
Judith gave the announcements and everyone passed
the Peace.
Rev. Judith led in the call to worship responsively and
everyone read the opening prayer in unison. Jack
Hodgert lit the red candle for Peace.
Rev. Judith read the First Scripture Lesson John 17:1-
11, John 20:19-23.
The Lord's Prayer was sung in unison. Psalm 8 was
read responsively. The choir sang Fill Us With Your
Spirit accompanied by the pianist Jean Hodgert.
Erin Parsons read the New Testament Lesson
Matthew 28:16-20. The title of Rev. Judith's message
was "More Precious Than Silver or Gold."
Everyone sang the hymn It Only Takes A Spark. Rev.
Judith spoke about the celebration of baptism and led in
the "Statement of Purpose" responsively.
Grace Pym chair of council called Barry and Amy
Parsons forward with their daughter Natalie Ann. Rev.
Judith led in the "Profession of Faith and Promises" (by
the parents) then the congregational commitment.
Everyone read the affirmation of our faith "A New
Creed."
Rev. Judith said the prayers of thanksgiving and
Katelyn Parsons cousin of Natalie helped Rev. Judith
pour the water in the baptismal font.
Rev. Judith baptized Natalie Ann daughter of Barry
and Amy Parsons. Grace Pym presented Barry with a lit
candle and a baptismal certificate. Everyone sang the
baptism hymn This Child of Ours.
Murray and Beatrice Dawson received the offering
and everyone sang the Doxology and read the offertory
prayer. Everyone read the prayers of the people. The
last hymn We Praise You, 0 God was sung. Rev. Judith

Announcements
The Food Bank is urgently in need of plastic grocery
bags. Instead of recycling, drop them off at the Food
Bank.
May 25 - is Conference Sunday, the church service will
be at Kirkton-Woodham Community Centre at 10:30
a.m. Special guests: "Lifted Voices"
The next council meeting will be June 11. Please note
the change of date.
Mon., June 16 - "Out In the Cold " Supper will be held
in London. Outreach committee is looking for volun-
teers for Out of the Cold program. If you can help,
please contact Karen Etherington at 235-1628.
June 22 Mission and Service Sunday, worship service
will be led by the outreach committee.
June 29 - the church service will be held at
MacNaughton Park.
Nov. 20 - 21 -A Salute to Broadway Cabaret Show
Rehearsals begin at the end of September. Singers and
dancers are needed ages 18 - 80. No prior experience

Greg Hendrick and Kathy Rohde at the SHRC Exeter on
Saturday evening.
Several people from this area attended the Kirkton
Horticulture meeting at Kirkton-Woodham Community
Centre on Tuesday evening. A person picked up their
premium. The guest speaker was John G. Powers of
Cambridge. His topic was butterflies which was really
interesting.
Karol Hodgert of Toronto was a guest on Sunday with
her cousins Arnold and Marion Cann.
Happy Birthday to Brian Richardson whose birthday is
