Kids helping kids — From April 4-1 1, Exeter Public students paid a $1
a day to wear their hat all day to raise $605 for the Children's Hospital

Animal parade
Favourite animals — On April 23, in an event suggested by a resident,
Queenway Retirement residents held an animal parade. Residents
brought out their stuffed animals that sang, squeaked and danced.ln front

POLICE BRIEF
Woman fails breath test
EXETER — A Huron OPP officer made a traffic stop April 6 at 2 a.m. at
the Exeter Legion. While speaking to the driver, the officer detected the
odour of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. A roadside breath demand
was made and the driver provided a sample of her breath. The result was
a fail and the driver was arrested for driving with over 80 milligrams of
alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood in the system. She was taken to the
Exeter Detachment where she provided two more samples of her breath
to a qualified breathalyzer technician. Test results confirmed she had over
two times the legal limit of 80 milligrams of alcohol in her blood. A 21 -
year -old London woman will return to Exeter Court June 26, to answer to
one count of driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol. Her vehicle was
towed and her drivers' licence was suspended for 90
days.

Sarnia man taken to jail at Exeter Court
EXETER — Before

Exeter Court April 24,
Goderich man Joel Bendig
pleaded guilty to having
marijuana in his possession
in Exeter March 2, 2008.
Bendig was a passenger
in a vehicle that police
stopped. When the police
stopped the vehicle they
could smell an odour of
marijuana
coming from
the vehicle.
Upon fur-
ther inspec-
tion the
police found
about 15
grams of marijuana in
Bendig's pocket.
Bendig was given a condi-
tional discharge and six
months probation.
The driver of the vehicle,
Goderich man Adam
Graham was found with
about 50 grams of marijua-
na in his jacket pocket. He
was also given a condition-
al discharge and six
months probation.
Uttering threats
Mitchell man Jeffrey
Harris pleaded guilty to
uttering death threats in
South Huron March 4,
2008.
Ilarris was served an
eviction notice, which he
ripped up and began play-

ing his music loudly.
Harris then went to his
landlord's home where he
was "ranting and raving" in
front of the victim's chil-
dren, saying that he was
planning to "bash his face
in."
Police were contacted.
Harris was "polite and co-
operative," according to the
police.
Harris, who
has since
moved, has
three children
and is a manag-
er ata pig barn.
OURT Harris was
given 12 months
probation, ordered to have
no contact with the victim
or the victim's family and
was given a five-year
weapon prohibition.
No helmet
Kippen man Murray
Connolly pleaded guilty to
failing to wear a helmet
while driving his motorcy-
cle in South Huron Aug. 30,
2007.
He was given a $110 fine
to be paid in 30 days.
Other charges were with-
drawn.
Over 80
Huron Park man Bradley
Dixon was found guilty of
driving with over 80 mil-
ligrams of alcohol per 100
millilitres of blood in his
system Aug. 12, 2007.
Police who were on gen-
eral patrol in South Huron
watched Dixon roll through
a stop sign on his 2005
ATV.
Dixon was given a $1,250
fine to be paid within six
months and a 12 -month
driving prohibition.
Failing to comply
Parkhill area man
Stewart M. Irvine was given
a $250 fine to be paid with-
in 30 days after failing to
comply with his probation
in South Huron Jan. 18,
2008.
Failing to comply
Sarnia man Derek
McCrudden was found
guilty of driving impaired
after police were called to
the Grand Bend Motorplex
July 21, 2007.
McCrudden was seen dri-
ving over a woodpile
around 2:48 a.m., with the
police being called shortly
after.
When McCrudden took
his breath tests, the results
were 230 mg and 210 mg
in 100 millilitres of blood.
McCrudden was sen-
tenced to 60 days in jail
intermittently. He also
received probation with his
licence suspended for one
year.
