great record of 23 wins and 12 loses. The girls started off the season with a tourna-
ment in St. Marys where they were undefeated until an untimely loss to the eventual
winner of the tournament. They played very hard but just came up short at the
wrong time.We travelled to Orangeville in mid January for our second tournament in
which it saw the girls play the best hockey all year and not to mention six games in
two days to bring home the second "A" title for South Huron of that weekend. MVP
of the tournament was our goaltender Melissa Cronyn. Honourable mention goes
out to every girl on our team for their play over the course of the two days spent in
Orangeville. Provincial Playdowns for the girls were not our strongest part of our
season. We played very well but just played some very strong opponents. Congrats to
all the girls on a great season. Thanks again to the great coaching staff for this season
as well. In the OWHA playdowns they were placed in a 4 -team round robin (along
with Belmont, Glencoe and Lambton Shores ).They started well winning the first
three games, then fell flat losing the next three to finish the year on a sour note, with
eventual OWHA finalist Lambton Shores advancing. This is a team which represented
itself and the SHMHA with class both on and off the ice, always playing the game the
way it is meant to be played, competitively with discipline. (PHOTO/SNAP SHOT PHOTOGRAPHY)
