Regardless of our record throughout the season, the Atom Rep enjoyed the year.
Certainly a struggle at times to get something going consistent throughout the regular
season, the lads actually came together very well for OMHA playdowns vs. Dresden.
Playing a total of 5 games with them, they moved on with 6 points, even though each
team scored 16 goals apiece, with only one game more than a goal spread which was
won by SH 3-1. Three games were tied in regulation, with Dresden taking one in over-
time and the other two remaining deadlocked. We struggled with scoring all season
averaging less than two goals a game over 41 games, losing 10 games with two or less
goal difference. Our fitness program went well and the team enjoyed our off -ice activi-
ties. Must thank all our affiliated players, who were such a big help filling in mainly for
vacations and sickness. They were Fraser Fulton, Mitchell Miller, Brendan Gordan and
Ben Turner. Good luck to all in your future hockey. (PHOTO/_NAP _HOT PHOTOGRAPHY)

South Huron Atom B GirlsTeam —Team: #9 Emily
Wells "C",#5 Megan Dalrymple "A",#1 1 Lauryn
Overholt "A",#10 Courtney Erb "A",#2Allie Conlin,#4
Victoria Davidson, #6 Chelsea Bedard, #7 Kassidy

Paul Overholt, Brad Coates (coaches), Cassie Dalrymple,
SandyTaylor (trainers), Colleen Overholt (manager), Jen
Conlin (hockey mom). The South Huron Atom Girls 'B'
Rep team had a successful building 2007-2008 season,
after moving up a classification from 'C' in 2006-2007,
peaking at the right time to qualify for Provincials in
Mississauga April 11-13. The girls started slowly making
noticeable improvements weekly. The Atom 'B' team
welcomed two players from ringette, one from SHMHA
boys and shared two players with ZMHA this season. As
well the team had four returning players from last year's
Atom rep team and four players from last years Atom
H/L team. The highlight of their season was beating
Mitchell in OWHA playdowns in March after losing to
them at Silver Stick in November, by a score of 5-1. At
the Provincials, the team demonstrated its success once
again going undefeated in its round robin play with three
games all ending in ties vs.Waterloo, Kingston and
South Huron Atom Boys LL — Back left to right: Jason Haist (coach),
Dayne Case, Kean Dwyer,William Regier, David Noel. Middle left to right:
Gary Hartman (coach), Nathan Somerton, Dan Pavkeje, Stephen Chappel,
Hayden Bowman, John Rutten (trainer) Front (standing) left to right: Dillon
Haist, Evan Hardie, Ben Mungar. Goalies left to right: Tyler Hartman, Ricky
Poirier. Missing from photo: Evan Boyle, Michael Hartai. Although this team
did not do very well in the standings, they had a great attitude and showed up
to each game ready to have fun. Our biggest accomplishment was winning the
South Huron Christmas Tournament. The coaches and parents are all very
proud of the way these kids held their composure during a season where it
could have been very easy for them to "throw in the towel".Way to go, boys!

Woodstock. Unfortunately, three ties weren't enough to
advance out of pool play. A close third game with a 0-0
score against Woodstock, had Woodstock advancing and
eventually claiming the bronze medal. Another note to
demonstrate the girls success is that Kincardine claimed
silver at Provincials representing the same region "O"
that South Huron qualified in. In OWHA playdowns
South Huron and Kincardine played to a 1- I tie. The
team's coaches and parents are very proud of how well
the girls represented the South Huron Minor Hockey
Association at Provincials in April. (P
