Other area workshops are also in April: on April 19 there is a 10 a.m. workshop hosted in the Zurich area at the Huron Ridge Garden Centre at 74101 Bronson Line, R.R.#2, Zurich. On April 20, Clinton United Church is welcoming church mem- bers and Clinton area residents to a workshop presentation at noon. These workshops are focused on the County's Rural Landowner Stewardship Guide, a publication provided free to each workshop participant. The work- shop participants explore the guide, using the worksheets in this new Rural Landowner Stewardship publication to discuss a variety of environmental topics for large or small property owners in the county communities, including energy conservation tips, landscaping, man- aging wooded areas, wildlife, septic systems, private water wells, chemical and fuel han- dling and storage and other topics. By attending the work- shop and working through the guide with facilitators, participants can confirm what they're doing right, dis- cover ideas for improv- ing conditions on their own property, small or sprawling and learn about funding or assis- tance programs that they may be able to access. The Stewardship Guide also offers sources of information that can help Huron County prop- erty owners become good stewards on their property, enhancing the value of the land and improving the overall environment as a benefit of their efforts. Register today for these free workshops so that enough Stewardship guide books may be available for each attendee during the workshop discussions. The Stewardship Guide publication was devel- oped by Huron County representatives, Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority, Friends of the Bayfield River, Huron Stewardship Council, Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation and the University of Guelph.
