Summary
Tuesday
Fed steers and heifers sold $1-2 lower. Choice steers
and heifers sold 81 - 85 with sales to 87. Second cut sold
79 - 81. Cows sold on a steady trade.
Thursday
Hol veal sold on a barely steady trade while beef veal
sold on a strong active trade. Lambs, sheep and goats
sold on a steady trade.
Friday
Calves and yearlings sold on a strong active trade.
Steers
There were 517 steers on offer.

1445 lbs. selling for an average of 83.73 with four limo
steers averaging 1476 lbs. selling to Dominion Meat
Packers for 87.

Huron 4-H Beef Club held
their first meeting on
April 8 in Exeter at Barb
Down's house. Election of
officers was held and
those elected are: Katie
Hern as president, Jillian
Clarke as vice-president,
Christine O'Reilly as sec-
retary, Janelle Clarke as
press reporter and Nikki
Hern / Christine O'Reilly
sharing the duties of trea-
surer. The leaders Barb
Down and Andrea Hern
explained the expecta-
tions for this year.
Our "me - page", "meet-
ing one", important forms
and $60 per person are to
be completed and are due
next meeting.

joining the 4-H Beef Club
are welcome to come out
to the next meeting. The
next meeting everyone is
to meet at the Clarke's in
Exeter at 7 p.m on April
28. We will be visiting a
local area beef operation.

2008 Cover Crop
rotection Program
Producers who are unable to seed commercial crops in 2008
due to excess moisture and/or spring flooding may be eligible for
financial assistance through the Cover Crop Protection Program (CCPP).
To be eligible for the CCPP, producers must be enrolled in provincial production
insurance. Information on production insurance, provincial application
deadlines and how to enroll can be obtained by contacting your provincial
crop insurance agency.
Provincial production insurance participants will automatically receive a CCPP
declaration form. The deadline to submit declarations for benefits under this
year's program is November 30, 2008.
