The market at Denfield Livestock Sales traded on a steady demand at prices $1 - $2 lower on the medium fed cattle with the fancy cattle $1 lower on the medium fed cat- tle with the fancy cattle $1 lower. A good offering of bull calves traded active at strong prices. Morley Hodgins, Parkhill sold 11 steers average weight 1395 average price 88.15. Don Eedy and Mark Vanderploeg, Denfield sold 12 heifers average weight 1429 average price 87.48 sales to 89 purchased by Norwich Packers. Election of officers was held and those elected are: Katie Hern as president, Jillian Clarke as vice-president, Christine O'Reilly as sec- retary, Janelle Clarke as press reporter and Nikki Hern / Christine O'Reilly sharing the duties of trea- surer. The leaders Barb Down and Andrea Hern explained the expecta- tions for this year. Our "me - page", "meet- ing one", important forms and $60 per person are to be completed and are due next meeting. New members welcome Anyone interested in joining the 4-H Beef Club are welcome to come out to the next meeting. The next meeting everyone is to meet at the Clarke's in Exeter at 7 p.m on April 28. We will be visiting a local area beef operation. To be eligible for the CCPP, producers must be enrolled in provincial production insurance. Information on production insurance, provincial application deadlines and how to enroll can be obtained by contacting your provincial crop insurance agency. Provincial production insurance participants will automatically receive a CCPP declaration form. The deadline to submit declarations for benefits under this year's program is November 30, 2008.
