Canoe rally
STANELY - The 23rd annual
Stanley Canoe rally was post-
poned on Sunday due to safety
concerns said organizer and
Bluewater Coun. Peter Walden.
Walden said Bluewater council
said the rally had to be post-
poned because the event wasn't
covered by municipal insurance
regulations.
A provincial high-water level
alert was issued last Tuesday but
Walden said the water levels
quickly returned to normal and
conditions were perfect on
Sunday.
Walden said the Stanley
Recreation Committee isn't cov-
ered by Bluewater insurance
since the committee doesn't do
its banking through the munici-
pal office.
The rally will be held this
Sunday at 11:30 a.m. on the
Bayfield River starting at
Tyndall's Bridge on Airport Line.
