of March, Dining for
Seniors' keyboard
musicians were Jean
Hodgert, Ruth Insley
and Josie Ryckman.
On March 4 we were
led in a sing -a -long by
Jean Hodgert and Lucy
Sage. We held a Penny
Sale on March 11.
Draw prizes this day
were won by Leona
Morley, Audrey
McRoberts and
Marshall Dearing.
Murray Christie and
Mary F. Dow performed
on March 18 with sev-
eral numbers on the
keyboard and saxo-
phone. Draw prizes
were won by Mavis
Atthill, Irene Blackwell
and Josie Ryckman.
We welcomed Jean
Estey back after her
fall before Christmas.
It is nice to have her
back with us.
We welcomed a new
individual by the name
of Lois Bibby on March
25. She came with
Muriel Parsons. A 50-
50 draw was won by
Liz Adams. Our enter-
tainment was Jim and
Elaine Scott.
Solo continues on

Exeter Lions Youth
Centre at 1 p.m.

Keeping fit
Exercise continues at
the Lion's Youth Centre
on Wednesdays from 9-
10 a.m. and again at
the Rec. Centre on
Fridays from 9-10 a.m.
We are having exercise
classes from 11:15 -
11:45 a.m. every
Tuesday just before
diners. Anyone who
would like to join us for
some easy stretching
exercises, please feel
free to come along.

Next Stan Lee meeting will be May 7 at 8 p.m.

VARNA- The Stan Lee Club met at the Dinner Bell
for lunch on April 2 with 18 members and three visi-
tors attending. Charles Reid brought greetings and
Anna Keys read the minutes.
They will be entertaining at Huronview on April 16
at 2 p.m. Marlene and Fred Deichert and Ralph
Stephenson will be entertaining with their music. Four
or five people are needed to bring cookies for the social
time.
Charles drafted a resolution to be presented at the
Seniors Convention in August to try for funding to
improve septic systems for rural homes.
Shuffling is over for the season.
Music entertainment was provided by Ken De Vries
and Glen and Marlene Deichert Thanks to these folks
for doing this as it was really enjoyed by all.
Marlene Deichert reminded everyone to think about
taking part in the Senior Games. Contact her by April
20 or sooner.
The Seniors Rally is in Blyth on April 17. If you can
go notify Bill Taylor by April 11 and pay him $10 for
your lunch ticket.
Wed. April 9 there is an Old Time Jamboree in the
complex in Varna from 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Everybody is
welcome!!
The next Stan Lee meeting will be on Wed., May 7 at
8 p.m. with guest speaker Karen Hartwick, a tea mer-
chant from Stratford. Come and enjoy a tea tasting
good time.
The Varna U.C.W. met at Steckle's greenhouse last
Thursday at 4 p.m.
Carol Steckle gave them a tour of the greenhouse,
showed the ladies how the seedlings were planted and
potted. Very interesting procedure. Many of the ladies
bought some plants and thanked Carol for her guided
tour and then ventured on to Bonnie Roys for a won-
derful potluck supper. Thanks to Bonnie for her hospi-
tality and opening up her home!! Thanks also to Ruth
Johnston also on the committee helping Bonnie!!
A thank you was sent around from the 'All Girls
Marching Band'. April event on April 7 in Exeter
United Church, an invitation to Kippen Thankoffering
on April 8 at 7:30 p.m. with Joan Addison as speaker.
Deb Rathwell announced that the Five Alive
Conference Sunday on May 25 would be in Varna this
year with Marc Robinet from Seaforth being the guest
speaker.
Camp Menesetung cabin will be cleaned on May 2.
Anyone wishing to help clean can
call Carol Simons.
A Get Well card was sent around
for all ladies to sign for Ruby Hill a
patient in Clinton Hospital.
Collecting will be done for Mike
Stephenson who is getting married
June 7.
Bonnie Roy read "Garden of
Prayer", Ruth Johnston read
"Spring".
Bonnie then read "Help Us to
See and Understand", Ruth
"Whose Garden" and then Bonnie
with the answer.
Next meeting will be May 1.

Steenbeek will be in charge of the
dinner and theatre meeting for
Aug. 28.
Worship was in Varna Church
on Sunday with worship leaders
Paul and Marilyn Elgie. Marilyn
did the children's time on "Child of
God" and Paul gave the message
"Light The Way With Your Extra
Mile". Paul also favoured everyone
with his number on the piano, his
own version of How Great Thou
Art. Get well wishes were extended to Norene and
Elmer Hayter and Ruby Hill, all patients in Clinton
Public Hospital.
Sympathy was also extended to Ralph and Mona
Stephenson and family on the passing of Ralph's broth-
er Ivan in Missisauga.
Worship will be in Varna next Sun., April 13 with
John McNeilly as guest speaker.
Canoe rally postponed on Sunday will be this Sun.,
April 13.
