POLICE BRIEF
SH man fails
breath test
SOUTH HURON — Members of
the Huron OPP stopped a vehicle
on Main Street in Exeter March
28, after the vehicle was observed
travelling significantly across the
centre line of the road. After
approaching the driver, the officer
detected an odour of an alcoholic
beverage on his breath, and he
admitted to consuming alcohol
earlier. The officer made a
demand for the driver to provide a
roadside breath sample. The dri-
ver complied and the result was a
fail. The driver was arrested for
driving with over 80 milligrams of
alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood
in his system, and was transport-
ed to the Sebringville Detachment
where he was taken before a
qualified Breathalyzer technician
took two suitable breath samples.
The readings confirmed that the
driver was operating the motor
vehicle above the legal limit of 80
milligrams. A 62 -year-old South
Huron man was given a 90 -day
licence suspension and his vehicle
was towed from the scene. He will
appear in Exeter Court June 26 to
answer to one count of driving
with over 80 milligrams of alcohol.
