ZURICH — Ron Heimrich, chair-
person of the board of directors of
the Blue Water Rest Home
announced last week that the
home has installed the final group
of new resident beds bought from
fundraising from the 'Rest Well'
Campaign.
"This campaign was a success
thanks to the generosity of many
people and organizations in this
community, and across the coun-
try," said Heimrich said.
"In January, when we tallied the
fundraising, we had reached the
campaign target of $105,000. We
were then able to direct the
administration to purchase the
last 21 beds to bring the total up
to 65," he explained. "Now every
resident here can enjoy the bene-
fits of fully electric beds to adjust
their comfort and enjoy their
rest."
Blue Water administrator
Martha Craig said, "These new
beds are great — they are much
easier to operate and reposition.
The benefits are higher levels of
comfort for our residents and a
way for the staff to both enhance
care delivery and avoid strains."
Chairperson of the board's
Community Development
Committee Richard Erb said. "I
am particularly proud of the resi-
dent council at Blue Water, who
sold cookies, hosted coffee and
muffin mornings, and held other
activities over the last year and
raised the entire cost of a Hi/Lo
bed."
Two styles of bed were bought:
the first is a regular electrically -
operated bed with adjustable head
and foot sections, and adjustable
side rails. The second type is
called a "Hi/Lo," and the frame
can be lowered to within inches of
the ground. These are for resi-
advertisers. .

EXETER — Percussionist
and Exeter area man Dave
Robilliard, son of Bob and
Sandy Robilliard, is per-
forming a concert at the
Exeter United Church
Sunday at 2 p.m.
Robilliard began when
he was nine years old and
his dad needed an extra
percussionist in his group
at National Music Camp.
The following year
Robilliard started playing
with the South Huron
District High School
(SHDHS) band, even
though he was much
younger than the other stu-
dents, and he hasn't
looked back since.
After high school,
Robilliard continued to
study percussion at the
University of Western
Ontario (UWO) where he
earned his Bachelor of
Music, and then went on to
complete his Master of
Music in Performance at
Oklahoma City University.
Robilliard is a past mem-
ber of the Oklahoma City
Philharmonic and the Enid
Symphony Orchestra.
He is in his first year as
adjunct instructor of per-
cussion at UWO and in
addition to his teaching at
the university and privately
in Exeter, Robilliard is
active as a freelance per-
cussionist and clinician in
Southwestern Ontario. He
also helps with the percus-
sion ensemble at SHDHS.
Robilliard is on the faculty
in the summer at the
National Music Camp of
Canada as well as the
inter -provincial Music
Camp.
For his concert,
Robilliard will play pieces
on marimba (basically a
big xylophone with a warm
sound), a military snare
drum, vibraphone and a
piece for six toms and
piano, which he says "is
extremely rhythmic and
grooves."
In addition, he will be
joined by Dr. Jill Ball who
is an associate professor of
percussion at UWO. Dr.
Ball comes from Michigan
and was Robilliard's
teacher of percussion and
mentor when he began
university. Together they
will play a
vibraphone/marimba duet
based on flamenco music
as well as other pieces.
Tickets are $5 for stu-
dents and $10 for adults.
Tickets are available at
the door.
Proceeds from the con-
cert will support the
Church camps — Camp
Menesetung on Lake Huron
north of Goderich, and
Camp Bimini, near
Stratford.
