Cliff Gingerich memorial supper April 12

ZURICH CORRESPONDENT
ZURICH - There was a really good turn
out for the Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt last
Saturday at the Maverick Paint -Ball
Auditorium in Zurich with close to 100 chil-
dren in attendance!
Little Reid David Gelinas was baptized on
Easter Sunday during mass at St. Peter's
Church in St. Joseph, by Fr. Peter Poel.
Reid is the son of Joe and Amy Gelinas of
Grand Bend. The baptism was followed by
a family get-together at their home.
Justin Soudant was home from Trinidad
to spend Easter and a couple weeks with
his parents Ted and Janet Soudant and
family members.
The family of Cecilia Farwell (from vari-
ous places) spent Easter with their mother.
Sandra Shaw, Zurich hosted her family
Easter dinner and get-together at her home
on Saturday. Family members came from
Barrie, Zurich and Grand Bend.
Welcome back home Bob and June Fisher
who spent the winter months in Florida.
Joe Denomme from Whistler, B.C. was a
surprise visitor to Zurich on the weekend of
Feb. 23. He came home for the 50th birth-
day party of his mother Cindy. Michelle,
from Victoria, B.C. was also home for the
celebration. Michelle brought her fiancee
Sean Smith with her to meet the family.
It was nice to have our youngest daughter
Meagan Sweeney home for the weekend
from Toronto. Once again our family (20 in
all) enjoyed a delicious Easter Brunch at
Erb's Country Kitchen.
Sisters Betty Oke and Helen MacLean
recently returned to their condos at Stone
Meadows after spending the winter up
north at their chalet where family mem-
bers visited with them.
Sandra Regier recently spent a week in
Las Vegas at a wedding and the Portrait
Photographers International Award's com-
petition.
Lions Club
The Lions Club will be holding their
monthly dinner meeting at Erb's on Wed.,
March26at7p.m.
St. Boniface C.W.L. held their mass for
vocations on March 18 with Fr. Poel.
Afterwards 18 ladies attended the meet-
ing in the parish hall with president Deb
Pennings. Reports were given by the vari-
ous convenors.
St. Boniface School will be holding a
bingo and silent auction at the Bluewater
Complex on Fri., May 9 from 7 - 9 p.m.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is
welcome to come out for a night of fun!
St. Boniface school play "High School
Musical" will be held on April 16, 17 and
18. Begmning at 7 p.m. each night and
tickets are on sale at the door.
C.W.L. news
C.W.L. fun night in Goderich at the K.of C.
Hall on Tues., April 1 at 7 p.m. (supper)
Convention will be held in Windsor from
April 21 to 23 (two delegates will attend).
First communion at St. Boniface Church
is on May 25.
A lovely quilt was donated to the League
for our next Bean Festival draw by Bill
Smith in memory of his wife Maddy.
Time changes for mass
Starting this weekend the
Saturday night mass will be
held at 5 p.m. Two masses
will be held on Sunday: 9 a.m.
and 11 a.m. as the church on
the Bluewater highway will be
closed for renovations to pre-
pare for St. Peter's 135th
Anniversary Celebration July
12 - 13.
Installation of our new exec-
utive for the next two year
term will be held at mass on
March 30 by Fr. Keller.
Lunch was served by Martha
Overholt and Patty Hunt's
group. Easter lilies were the
door prize.
Ice skating spring school will
be held at the arena in Hensall
on Wednesdays and Fridays
for the first four weeks of
April. Time: 4 p.m. - 7:50
p.m. All are welcome!
Memorial dinner
Tickets are now on sale for
the Cliff Gingerich Memorial
sauerkraut supper and dance
at the complex on Sat., April
12 at 7 p.m. Social hour at 6
p.m. The meal will be catered
by Jerry Rader. Cost is $40
person at C.G. Farm supply in
Zurich or call Mark Weigand

Matthew recently spent two
weeks in Australia visiting her
brother Brent O'Brien.

Ruth -Ann of London spent
Easter with family members
in Ingersoll on Sunday at the
home of Shirley and Ross
Cooper.
There will be a Roast Beef
supper at St. Peter's Lutheran
Church Hall this Sat., March
29 at 6 p.m. followed by a
musical program.

New location for Heart to Heart
Due to renovations taking place in the
Zurich Mennonite Church basement, the
Heart to Heart program is postponed to
begin Tues., April 8 and will be held at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church.
Spring session will run every Tuesday
morning (9:30 a.m.- 12) from April 8 -June
3. Free babysitting is provided. For more
