In game one on Saturday Zurich started off strong get- ting on the score- board early with goals by Colton Becker and captain Nick LaPorte. With time counting down in the third, Ops made a last ditch effort to put one past the goaltender and scored to put them on the gamesheet. With only seconds left in the third they again got one past Zurich to even the game at two and send the game to a sudden death over- time period. Momentum had shifted in the home team's favour and after a scramble in front of Zurich's net the puck ended up in the back of the net, a heart breaking end to a good game. Sunday's game went head-to-head, Indoor tug-of-war day EXETER — Indoor tug-of-war at various levels will be on dis- play this weekend at South Huron District High School. Bluewater tug-of-war president Erich Freiter said the day is a way to expose the sport and is a prelude to the season, including the Hensall Fair in June. It is the first indoor tournament put on by the club, said Freiter who added the club recently acquired a rubber mat that the tournament will be held on. Freiter said there will be three categories with senior elemen- tary teams at 10 a.m., high school teams at 11 and provinical league teams at Noon. Everyone is welcome to attend the competitions, which runs from 10 to 3 p.m. with free admission.For more information con- tact Freiter at 237-3351. Through a nail-bit- ing third period the Zurich defence kicked in and man- aged to maintain the advantage to the final buzzer. The three out of five series shifts to Zurich this weekend with the faceoff for game three at 3 p.m. on Saturday and game four scheduled for 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Bluewater Centre /Zurich Arena. The Zurich Thunder and their parents invite every- one out to support the team in their quest for the All Ontario title. Four clubs, Clinton Fish and Game, Exeter Claybird Gun Club, Kippen Gun Club and Porters Hill participated as North and South teams. Five hundred tar- gets were shot in skeet, trap and sporting clays disciplines. Fifty shooters participated shooting at 25,000 targets. Shooters were aged 10 to 80. Teams scores out of 2,500 targets: North - 2157; South - 2141 Individual scores out of 500 tar- gets: High overall - Chuck Krieger 444; High Veteran - Brent Lees 424; High Lady - Brittany Caldwell 345; High Junior Kyle Mann 373.
