A gabled dormer window adds yet more charm to the facade. Inside, the almost symmetrical lay -out, centred around a striking L-shaped staircase leading to the second floor, lends the interior a calm sense of elegance. From the front porch, entry is through a double door into a large foyer, part of which is double -height. On the right, through an archway, is the formal dining room. To the left, another archway leads to the living room, which features a fireplace. Beyond a powder room that includes a linen closet is the family room, also boasting a fireplace. Large windows overlook the back garden, and there is access to a covered pato that spans the width of the family area. Overlooking the patio is the breakfast room, where light will flood in through a trio of bayed -out windows. The spacious kitchen is separated from the rest of the living area only by a prep island. The U-shaped counter configuration will save steps for the cook, and a large pantry will provide always -welcome storage. Behind the kitchen is a mud - room, with two coat cupboards for outdoor wear and other gear. Access to the double garage will make this room a popular stop en route to storing groceries in the pantry. Upstairs, railings surround the landing, part of which is open to the floor below. The large master suite enjoys its own covered sundeck, as well as a capacious walk-in closet. The ensuite boasts a corner soaker tub with a tiled surround, as well as a shower stall, for a touch of spa -like luxury. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom, and a second laundry room will eliminate the need to lug linens up and down the stairs. Bedroom No. 3, which overlooks the front garden, boasts a window seat. Exterior finishes include decorative woodwork, painted trim, horizontal siding and partly -mullioned windows, as well as stone accents. The home measures 58 feet wide by 58 feet 10 inches deep, for a total of 2,478 square feet. Plans include an unfinished basement. All ceilings are nine feet high.
