HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Times Advocate, 2008-03-12, Page 11Wednesday, March 12, 2008 SPORTS Times -Advocate 11 Weekly minor hockey scores Tyke Black March 5 South Huron Black 5 versus South Huron Red 9 Goals: Kyle Lapointe (2), Hannah Tait (3) Assists: Jayden Heywood, Hannah Drager, Colin Thiel, Alexis Glavin, Peter Conlin Goaltender: Megan Morrissey Hard-fought game against a fellow South Huron team. Everyone was skating fast and digging hard. Jayden Heywood and Jack Robinson played extra well on defense. Super goaltending, Megan! March 9 South Huron 2 versus Lucan Green 10 Goals: Kyle Lapointe, Jared Orr Assists: Ki Westelaken, Jack Robinson Goaltender: Hannah Drager The Sabres played hard once again! Excellent efforts by Colin Thiel, Megan Morrissey, Jared Orr, and Kyle Lapointe. Hannah Drager faced lots of difficult shots by the Lucan team and saved many of them. Good teamwork overall! Tyke Red March 5 South Huron Red 9 versus South Huron Black 5 Goals: Colin Regier (5), Jacob Ryan (4) Assists: Stephan Ducharme, Liam McGregor, Ryan Gibbings, Nolan Regier, Noah McGregor (3), Jayda Consitt, Ashley Keller (2), Justin Pym (2) Both Sabres teams played some super hockey, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats for the entire game. The Red team had Harrison Bowman in net, who came up with some big saves. Strong defensive efforts were made by Ryan Gibbings, Nolan Regier, Noah McGregor, and Justin Pym. Jayda Consitt, Stephan Ducharme, and Liam McGregor were stepping up their offenesive game, and helped keep the action in the opponents end. Jacob Ryan, Ashley Keler, and Colin Regier demonstrated their end to end breakaway speed throughout the game. The whole team showed off their hockey skills during this game against a very tough competitor. Great Game Team! March 8 South Huron 5 versus Point Edwards 8 Goals: Jacob Ryan (3), Liam McGregor, Ashley Keller Assists: Ashley Keller, Joel Denotter (3), Jacob Ryan, Jayda Consitt (2), Justin Pym The Sabres fought hard throughout the game and never gave up. Congratulations to Liam McGregor on scoring his first goal of the season. Stephan Ducharme played a solid game in net stopping many pucks. The star players of the game were Jayda Consitt, Ashley Keller and Stephan Ducharme. Keep playing hard and passing the puck team!! Tyke White Feb. 8 South Huron Tyke White 5 vs. Mt. Brydges 7 Goals: Carter McLlwain, Nicholas Bedard (2), Luke Andrews, James Boyle Assists: Jacob Hill, Cassie Maier, James Boyle, Carter McElwain, Luke Andrews Comments: We had our work cut out for us with this very offensive team. Once again, Justin Godwin was kept very busy in net and did a great job. Our score was pret- ty close considering how many shots they had on net. Great effort team! Feb. 27 SH 9 versus SH Tyke Red 1 Goals: Carter McLlwain (8), Nicholas Bedard Assists: James Boyle, Jackson McLlwain, Jenna Myatte Comments: Great job team. Our team took control early on and took the opportunity to hone their passing and foreck- ecking skills. Carter McLlwain had a hot game with eith out of nine goals. Goalie Luke Andrews did a super job in net! March 1 SH Tyke White 8 versus Strathroy White 2 Goals: James Boyle (3), Nicholas Bedard (2), Carter McLlwain (2), Luke Andrews Assists: Cassie Maier (2), Jenna Myatte (2), Dylan Relouw, James Boyle, Carter McLlwain, Jackson McLlwain Comments: Fantastic job! Our team had the opportunity to take lots of rushes and work on our offensive play. Nice hat trick by James Boyle! Cassie Maier and Jenna Myatte both had a great game assisting four of the goals. Once again goalie Justin Godwin had a fantastic game in net. Season ending -The Junior Curling wrapup was held March 2 at the Exeter Curling Club with a mini bonspiel and pizza party.The junior curlers are taught the basic skills and ethic of curling Sunday after- noons from November to March.
