The Irish forced game seven by win- ning 5-2 Saturday in Lucan after the Trojans had won twice 7-1 earlier in the week. The Irish had a 2- 1 lead in the series Feb. 27 when they hosted the Trojans but after a scoreless first period Thamesford took control with four goals in the second period and three more in the third for the 7-1 win. Bob Martin had the lone goal for the Irish as they went zero for eight on the power play and the Trojans scored five times with the man - advantage. Friday night in Thamesford, Chris Van Kastern gave the Irish a 1-0 lead midway through the first period but it was all Thamesford after that. Back in Lucan Saturday night, the Irish were trying to force the series to a seventh game and Martin put them ahead 1-0 in the first with a power play goal. The Trojans evened the score in the second period but Martin again gave the irish the lead and Justin Lightfoot scored at 17:41 for a 3-1 Lucan lead. Thamesford got close with a goal at 11:12 of the third period but just 20 seconds later Alex Regan restored the two -goal Lucan lead and Kevin Dean sealed the win with an empty net goal at 18:52. Sunday night Dean put the Irish on the board in the first period but it was all Thamesford after that as they scored twice before the period was over and four times in the second for the 6-1 victory and the series win.
