My husband and I decided to sell our home of 18 years, and move to South Huron to start building my dream. After some research we thought that this area was in need of a Kennel, so we bought a 5112 acre property just outside of Crediton. And so began my journey. We sought out a contractor and began the process of building what is now North Fork Kennel & Grooming. On October 1st 2007, we opened our doors. Our building is completely newly constructed and consists of 36 large and small runs for dogs,18 of them are indoor/outdoor. It features in -floor heating throughout the entire building a large room for cats to run and play, as well as private cages available upon request We provide both overnight boarding and daycare for dogs and cats. We offer basic grooming in our fully equipped grooming room. We have plans to create a large play area and some small play area outside for social dogs, and to make the remainder of our runs indoor/outdoor. The reason I decided to open North Fork Kennel & Grooming is because of my absolute love for animals. I know that when I leave my beloved pets in the care of someone else I expect them not just to be fed, watered, and taken outside, but I expect them to be shown love and affection as well. When running North Fork Kennel that is my goal; to treat every pet that walks through our doors as one of our own. Our business is a family run business, myself and my two daughters, Tina (22) and Tedi -Ann (16) do all of the work My mother, Eileen helps with the bookkeeping and with business development ideas and my hus- band Joe and my father Neil help with the routine maintenance. We all love what we get to do everyday. To wake up every morning and spend time with all the wonderful pets we have encountered is a dream come true for all of us. Its not just work for all of us, its fun. We love what we do and couldn't think of anything else we would rather do.
