allowed Glavin Eavestroughing to offer customers alternatives to traditional roofing applications and
outside renovations. 'There are more options when it comes to deciding on asphalt, steel, aluminum,

Hay Mutual Insurance Company has been a part of the Zurich area for 133 years. Located at 43 Main Street they are
an indepedently operated insurance company under the leadership of nine Directors elected by their policyholders.
In 1875 the Hay Township Farmers' Mutual Fire Insurance Company was established with Mr. Henry Dirstein as
Manager and Secretary -Treasurer overseen by nine Directors with the head office located in Zurich. There were 119
policies in force covering non -hazardous farmers' risks, churches and school houses for the peril of fire with the
largest risk of $2,600. Over the years more lines of business were added and all risks policies are available. Even
though the Company has had its share of catastrophe claims and competition, it remains financially strong and stable
with current members' surplus in excess of $23 million.
With nine employees, nine directors, and seven agents, Hay Mutual Insurance Company offers a broad range of
innovative insurance products and services including: residential, agricultural, cottage, commercial and automobile in
the counties of Huron, Lambton, Middlesex and Perth. Our seven insurance agents are willing to spend the time to
get to know the insureds and suggest coverage best suited to their needs. Local claims representatives personally
visit to assess losses and settle claims.
Hay Mutual Insurance Company is unique as they are 100 per cent Canadian and owned by their policyholders.
Hay Mutual offers insurance at cost - figured into the cost of insurance are only losses and operating expenses.
No profits are paid to outside shareholders, they distributed $2.1 million in refunds to their policyholders since the
year 2000. In the upcoming months a new office building is being constructed to the west of Zurich.
Hay Mutual Insurance Company is proud to invest locally, employ local people and use local trades.
